I just compared the VP26 with the VP312 and found the VP312 to have more transients and the VP26 to be smoother .
I don't have a VP25 to compare with the VP26. Are the transients different with the bigger transformer or does it have the same sound as the VP26 but more low end ? Most likely gotta just build one for myself to test but I thought I'd ask.

I have both, and I don't notice an appreciable difference between the transients. I do notice a slightly "rounder" bottom on the larger transformer, especially if the output attenuator is used.

I use the vp25's for drums, 26's on electric gtr. I think they provide a little more beef. The 312's with Litz are definitely faster then the 25's. It is all a shade of API forward though.
