Gotta admit I'm quite interested, it has lexicon verbs and DBX compressor / limiters built in with a 22X24 audio interface. I sent a pre-amp back which costs about the same as this entire board.

looks interesting - how does the usb functionality work, does it use that to hook up with the same number of DAW channels?

I'd gather you just use channel routing as you would with any other interface / DAW. It has a 22x24, so there should be an extra channel for master bus / analogue summing.. Issue I always had with hybrid mixers is lack of channels, but this one seems covered.

Check out X32 or the Midas version m32 For what reason? The X32 and Midas are digital mixers, the Soundcraft isn't. It's more akin to the Zed R-16 / GSR-24.. If I was looking for a digital mixer I would check them out.

Supposedly it has ghost preamps and eq. I'm most curious how this is with latency.

Ugg. It only goes to 48k. I work to often in 96k and up. I also hate limitations like that. If they made cuts there then where else? They need to make more 24 io 24/96k boards. The new presonus line looks very favorable. And with daw control.

I bought the 22MTK last year (pre-ordered)... I love it and would absolutely buy it again. The price to performance ratio is fantastic! The Ghost pre-amps, limiters, EQ are all great with very usable FX. If 48k is a limitation to you, the non-Multitrack version does 96k for 2 channels. This is basically a live console that most of us happy users are using in the studio... a winner in my book for $800.00.

Pretty lame if you ask me, they could've knocked it out of the park if they just would of done 96. but not bad for an overpriced controller I guess. I was looking at that soundcraft board also, besides an A&H Mixwizard4. If someone would make a small format capable analogue board that was affordable It would surprise me. I also heard the word sapphire used in describing the soundcraft...

The studio 3 only does 48k? Thats fucking dumb. Stupid. Not a real studio console then. Its about flexibility. Damn. I was eyeing thst too. So another live board just what the digital mixer line needed. What a mistake. Their new converters got trashed too. Basically at the bottom of the adda list. Ironically the behringer uphoria line is doing well and they go 192k. Might as well get a tascam dm.

Still its a good deal.

I would've paid double for 96k too. But, to be honest, since I've been using it, it's never entered my mind to wish it was 96k capable. I have other ways to get up to 192k if I really need it. However, there are some options. If you need to do sound design with higher resolution or tracking/summing at higher rates, and have another interface or AD convertors, you can send all of the nice Signature features out the mains and print with the highest resolution you have ability to convert to... I can't praise enough the Ghost Pre-amps, DBX Limiters, Sapphire EQ (4 band with 2 sweepable Mids), GB routing, dual engine Lexicon FX with 2 returns, 100mm Faders, 22 dedicated Multi-track channels, 5 Auxes, 4 Groups, solid construction, plus more.
The convertors in the MTKs are the same as the first Gen Si and the earlier Flagship Tour Console, Vi1. Never heard anybody complain about the conversion... certainly not me.

I thought those pres were sapphire range? Can anyone help me out on this? The Pres are Ghost. The EQ is Sapphire. Named after the older consoles... thus the "Signature" reference: Soundcraft Signature.
