I watched a video on the new features... looked really good.
So I upgraded...
Now, my mac is a 27" 14,2 and I don't think its retina.... I had to immediately roll back to 10.2
I had real trouble reading the font. Now I could probably get used to the colour scheme changes... but honestly I hated the look.
Now sometimes I know in the past, I have not like a change, and then warmed to it... but I don't know this time.
Its certainly un workable for me at the moment...
Will be interesting to see what everyone else thinks...
so, whilst I would like a couple of the features, I am going to stay at 10.2
btw , how do I find out if my mac has 4K display?
cheers

Did you try sys prefs, displays and then "scaled"?

Please tell me the expanded color palette now includes some actual reds and yellows. Hate the orangish reds and the mustardy yellows.

According to apple, (a 14,2 2013 model) it is a 2560x1440 IPS panel. But, what's the significance? That they've redone graphics to only look right on Retina level resolutions?

Here's the best part:
My logic remote no longer works on ipad or iphone until I upgrade logic.
So lame

You mean because you updated the logic remote?
This means that if I upgrade my 10.2.x to 10.3 I will no longer be able to use my old iPad2 as a remote?

Thanks apple! this got me, on iPad and iPhone. I am running Sierra... I upgraded to 10.3 Logic Pro X... to have a look... and the graphics is unworkable atm. So went back to 10.2. whatever it is... and my logic remote wouldnt work.. so I upgrade the iPhone logic remote... bzzzzzzt and you can't go back (i don't think) from IOS 9 onwards... damn it. cheers Wiz

Something I feel a need to point out, because it's an important dissection--you can ALWAYS "go back" with OS X. It might mean reinstalling some apps and losing some preferences or something....but, it's always there.
iOS has NEVER allowed reverting beyond beta testers. The only way is to root (jailbreak) your device from the get go and store the various OS revision signature files in various ways.
That's an important distinction. Apple enforces that--you literally have to have you deviceID be blessed by Apple servers to run X version of iOS. The rooted phone is basically getting the signature file and allowing you to store that usually hidden protected file for later use....

I just got off the phone with Logic Support.. about the blurry issue.
By adjust ing the Display Contrast , it improved it somewhat... now thats a system wide change.. so its a bit of a ham fisted approach, and doest resolve the issue.
There has been a font change, in Logic.. to San Francisco.
The support person was great... and suggested that submitting bug reports/feedback requests is the way to get this addressed.. that basically the more that it gets submitted, the higher up the fix list it goes.... which makes sense.
So, submit.
He was not aware of the issue before my call. We did screen sharing which was the coolest thing ever.
Also, I asked about the fact that my logic remote on my iPad and iPhone no longer working in 10.2 after upgrade... basically there is no real fix. There is no way to roll back the remote app.
So, in the short term.. its Logic 10.2 and no remotes ... or 10.3 and blurry or go buy retina iMac.
damn
cheers

looks like i'll have to try using the neyrinck v control app for logic.
My rig is a 2012 macmini and I'm not confident it can handle sierra and processor intensive things like recording audio.
Forced obsolescence pisses me off.

is it an i5 ? my mbp 2012 i7 is running sierra and no probs with 10.3
why do you think sierra is less efficient ?

Because that tends to be how it goes. The os gets more bloated with features while my hardware stays the same

Well sierra seems more efficient to me then el cap
wiz, clarity seems fine on my mbp 2012 non retina, the 10.3 gui is very clear.
