Do any of you own/use Seventh Circle Audio n72?
i'm thinking about going that direction to compliment my CAPI pres.
8 of each should cover just about everything, right?

They do the Neve thing fine as in slightly thick low-mids and are darker and less forward in the mids than the CAPI's. However I would probably also consider something like either the Don Classics or Sound Skulptor 500 series Neve style pre's if you are thinking of N72's. Don't get me wrong the N72's are great (I like the J99's as well) but as there are now more Neve style options in 500 series than then were when the N72's first appeared about 12 years ago that is something you may want to consider.

Was looking at those as well. I want a solid Neve flavor for the least $. I've found a couple of used SCA chassis with n72 modules and it would run me about $400 a channel with 2-4 already built. I've also come across a few used modules for around $300 each.

I have one N72 and 2 VP312. My plan is very similar, expand them both to 6 or 8 each. I've got "transparent" preamps more than covered already, because they're generally pretty easy to buy.
The N72 is a workhorse for me. It's my favorite SCA thing out of the few that I've tried. Same with the 312 from what I've had from CAPI.
