Mixing this week is gonna be a blast! Hey Randy, What do you use your VC1 on? That Joe Meek VC-1 is actually Jim Gilmore's. He brings gear over that he has worked on and gotten back into service and asks me to give it hell for a bit and make sure the bugs are worked out of them. I like it for dirty-ing up drums or roughing up mono things to fill in gaps of mixes. I have searched but haven't seen another one like this to snag. I think Jim may have put some better components in this one cause it really sounds great.

Would love to hear your thoughts between the RS124 and the BG2. I've got the Chandler, and it's awesome. But that BG2 looks to be pretty rad as well.

Both treat vocals very well. They are similar in color with the BG-2 being more round and more vintage RCA sounding and the 124 quicker and a bit more clear on top. They do things quite a bit differently, so they are different beasts. If you send me a file, I can run it through each of them set (somewhat) close to matching gain reduction if you'd like.
