Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on either, both or other analog delays that get you pumped.
I've come to the inevitable conclusion that I'm craving OTB delays (analog and digital)...
Love the full tone tube tape echo but don't want monkey with re-amping/impedance mismatches...
Love the pcm42 but not at $1500.....and I'm leaning toward analog anyway..
I'm heavy into 500 series stuff lately hence the Moog and Eventide options...
Or? Thanks in advance for your thoughts...

I'm jonesing for the Moog units. I'd love a pair. I miss my Yamaha E1010's...... Those are an option as well, but most are so beat to ****

there is nothing like Moog's delays. I have a Moogerfooger MF104-m delay pedal (and the Minifooger Delay too) that I use in my guitar rig but also patch in when mixing vocals, etc. Should have bought 2 as now they are discontinued and have become incredibly expensive in the used market. I have never gravitated towards 500 series but if I did I would put a pair of the Moog delays (and ladder filters) in the rack immediately. The Eventide DDL looks nice as well but I have never used them.

there is something beyond stoney with the Echorec bucket brigades, but they're insanely pricey...

You can control them via midi and have access to more parameters than are on the faceplates. I was going to get some old Lexicon prime times, though once I got the MOOG 500s I stopped looking; I can say enough about them. As far as I know, there's limited supply and once they are gone, the run is done.

I had a few old delays going including the Ibanez 202 and the Yamaha 1010. Once I got the Moog I sold them all. It fits into the mix so effortlessly. Dark and purty with a cool layout. I haven't tried the Eventide but isn't it a digital delay? Now if only someone could shrink an EMT plate into a 500 series........

To their credit they did something unique & cool and surrounded the delay line in analog circuitry like the Low Pass filter, etc. -terry

The older I get the harder it is to recreate that feeling of first hearing (and monkeying with) an echoplex . I was not aware of the limited run aspect of the Moogs.... I should snap one up....Can't go wrong with a Moog.

I rented the Moog 500 series delay from Blackbird one day and thought it sounded fantastic. I was able to do whatever I wanted it to do and very quickly. Ya gotta love gear that loves you back!

I'd like to try the Moog ladder sometime. I know Michael Wagener uses them to fatten drums and things. Gonna put that on the list of things to check out!
