I'm completely heart broken...., my pal Dennis "kidvibes" Stone passed away today, he wasn't feeling well about a month ago, checked into the hospital after not improving for a couple weeks, and was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer...., the outlook was grim, but Dennis had an incredibly positive attitude, and he was at peace with what was to be, amazing strength of character the man had, he was actually consoling me by the end of the call as he could hear my sadness, it was incredibly hard to stay composed, and even know what to say, when I became aware I was talking to my friend for the last time... Rest In peace my brother, you will be very missed.... I am sorry for your loss Tony. (and all of you who were this awesome man's friend.) a couple thoughts: I was reading through some of his posts here in the last few months. and I do remember a little from Gearslutz years ago. here's what I'm thinking now: this was a very good man. he helped sooooo many people. the positive effects of what he did helping people so much for so many years will be felt for a long long time. think of how much joy he brought to so many people. he helped people who cannot afford really good, insanely expensive stuff, to get really good stuff that they could afford. and he did it all just because he was a great generous intelligent kind hearted man. an advanced soul in my book. none of us get to stay here forever. I think Dennis is in a better place now. and I think his life here (so abruptly ended), is truly a major success. he recently helped a dying girl and her family. thats big. thats really huge. Dennis was a teacher. a really great, really cool teacher and great man. and his moving on to the next world leaves a hole. a void. a sadness. it does. but I'm gonna focus on the example that he set with how he lived his life. and be the best person that I can be, too.

Why does the big man seem to take the good guys and leave all of the bad ones down here? To many good people have been leaving us lately and is very upsetting. Hopefully they are all in a better place. Screw cancer!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a fitting song that Dennis was involved with... The vocal space in that tune is sublime. So difficult to lose someone with so much talent and so much left to live.

RIP Dennis. My deepest condolences to your family and all those that were fortunate enough to know you. Tony, I am sure that your presence, kind words and friendship brought him great comfort in his last days. The void he leaves behind will take a long time to close.

Very sorry to hear this, sometimes the good ones go early. That said, he lives on in the memories of others, and any piece of advice he gave that people use carry his ideas with him.

Here's a fitting song that Dennis was involved with... Dennis did work on this song, unfortunately Michelle truly did Dennis extremely wrong. She is not trust worthy. This is my families experience with her. Just know, in the end, all was forgiven in Dennis's mind.

I so did not need to read that. It would so nice if we could just leave RIP threads about honoring someone's memory and not have them contaminated with 'issues'.

Dennis is hflofasho's uncle. I'm sure it's just as painful for her to see a tribute to her uncle and see a song where the person might have wronged him, be posted as tribute. She did not go into detail. She merely shared her family's experience. She didn't turn it into gossip. Nothing was "contaminated with issues". As a relative, she has every right to voice whatever opinion she wishes in a tribute thread on her uncle.

I would like to take the time to say thank you to all of those whom had wonderful things to say about my uncle Dennis 'Dreadstone' aka kidvybes. My family has seen this thread and other threads regarding his memorial. Reading all these wonderful things about how helpful he was to you all and how he blessed you with his knowledge and of course humor has been very comforting to my family and myself. Dennis passed very peacefully surrounded by love and music. Here's a photo I wanted to share with you all, Dennis in penthouse studios in Kingston, Jamaica circa early 90s So in my uncles words, Give thanks and bless.

Though none of us knew Dennis the way you did, his kindness and warmth shone through even in conversations about recording gear. Clear to all he was a one of a kind, wonderful guy. BLESSINGS to you and your family.

The Internet is a strange thing. We think we know someone but it's a level of separation that stops us from really being involved. I only knew Dennis from his posting on GS and this board...It was a shock to hear that he was sick and then an even bigger one to hear of his passing. This thread got bumped a week or so ago and I really felt sad seeing his avatar and knowing he wasn't with us anymore. It's nice to see a real pic of him doing what he loved. Godspeed to Dennis and I hope his interactions brought him happiness while he was with us. We certainly benefitted from him.

My condolences to the family. I just came across Dennis' passing today on the 3U website. Which I would know nothing about if it wasn't for Dennis. I didn't know him but for some reason I could read through his post's and comments a sense of honesty and passion. I have a fairly solid B.S. meter and hear and read a lot of rubbish on forums. Somehow this dude I have never met had a significant effect on what I invested my hard earned cash on. Weird. Maybe someday I'll meet you in the afterlife Kidvibes. Peace
