Another fan here - Never communicated with him personally, but kidvibes' posts were a big part of the reason I was drawn to this site.

Always appreciated that Kidvybes tried to find the best bang for the buck & passed on his knowledge freely. People often accused him of being a shill for lesser known mic companies (stellar & 3U notably), but he seemed immune to their barbs. I followed his suggestion to use harbor freight aluminum briefcases for mic cases, & used the coupon code he also provided. I will miss his posts. Condolences to his friends & family.

I'm completely heart broken...., my pal Dennis "kidvibes" Stone passed away today, he wasn't feeling well about a month ago, checked into the hospital after not improving for a couple weeks, and was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer...., the outlook was grim, but Dennis had an incredibly positive attitude, and he was at peace with what was to be, amazing strength of character the man had, he was actually consoling me by the end of the call as he could hear my sadness, it was incredibly hard to stay composed, and even know what to say, when I became aware I was talking to my friend for the last time... Rest In peace my brother, you will be very missed.... View AttachmentOMG - that's awful. I had NO idea...So sorry to hear this.

I'm deeply saddened to hear this news. Dennis is one of the most passionate people I've met on this forum. His knowledge about mics and audio technology is second to none and he was always kind and willing to share information. I am indebted to him - I can honestly say that without his reviews of my mics, 3U Audio would have gotten off the ground much slower. I've consulted him many times when making mics and every time we talked I was amazed at his wealth of knowledge. I will miss his contributions here very much. The world will be a poorer place without him.
My condolences are with his family and friends.

Very sorry to hear this, my condolences.
Admirable how he carried on, he posted over at GS just 5 days ago with advice, just doing his thing.

I'm so sorry, this is terrible.
I always appreciated how much time he would take to help answer anyone's questions. He seemed genuinely kind, patient, and passionate about recording. He will be missed for sure.

I have to say that I've been taken aback by the perseverance, courage, grace and dignity D showed in the face of what had to be an incredibly painful and emotional final month(less than), we could all only hope to handle ourselves with an 1/8 the strength of character he showed if any of us ever find ourselves in as daunting of circumstance. I'm grateful he didn't have to suffer as long as cancer has made some, I'm grateful we all got to know a little bit of his generousness, kindness, thoughtfulness, and fair mindedness, he was truly a fine person, the guy knew crazy amounts about mics/tubes, he just loved the shit!! He gave me a pair of select 1950's 6072 tubes for my upcoming Elam clone pair (he also turned us all on to the gold tipped RCA408's), i will tweak the Elam's as close to perfection as I possibly can, they will be dear to me, and I will badge the pair "Kid" and "Vibes" as a small tribute to D, and to remind me of this good man everytime I use them, and I plan on using them... a lot! I hope all his passed loved ones and hero's greeted him with cheers and big smiles on the other side, i picture him recording Marley right now, in his new dream gear equipped studio in the sky! Neumann's abound!!!(maybe a Warbler here and there 8)

Dennis always presented himself on forums with the upmost class and dignity. Anyone could see he was passionate about this work and loved what he did. Truly a loss for our community. Rest in peace, Sir. You will be missed.

Man. I had no idea he was even sick. What a shame. He helped lead a lot of people to mic choices they might not have been aware of, including myself.

God I hate cancer..... Dennis was an active face booker and I used to get a kick out of some of the things he'd post. My prayers for the family and close friends to be comforted.

Oh my god, this is sad. He was one of the consistently helpful, skillful and friendly people who shared his knowledge. Patient and passionate for sound. He was around so many years in all these forae as one of the good guys. He contributed so much to the community, it will leave a hole where he was. I did not know him in person, but it feels like he was around for decades in the net, giving worthy advice and input. Well. Actually he was, if i think about it ... Many of the good guys have to go too early. R.I.P, kidvybes. Condolences to all who knew him in person, friends and family.

I am very sad to hear this. I always appreciated his posts and learned quite a bit.
I am always amazed and by the way some people can handle the most difficult period like he did. I don't know what I would do if it were me but I think it would be with much less grace than he did.
Condolences to his family and friends.
RIP

Absolutely horrible news. I've always been a big fan of his posts; he'll definitely be missed.
Too many losses; it's been been a very harsh year and it's only March.
