Or if you guys know of some good deals. I was looking for a Thunderbolt HD around 3 Tb's or more. They're kinda hard to find. Seems to be more USB3...which is fine, I just thought I would go with TB because I can daisy chain.

www.pricewatch.comyou could get some USB 3 hubs and daisy chain via that. I believe the USB spec supports 127 devices on a single chain...

Question, is it wise to have any single hard drive larger than a terabyte? it seems if you hang all your info on a single mechanical drive of 4 TB's, you are putting all of your eggs into one proverbial basket... no? I have a 4 HD slot macpro, I think i'd rather go 1-200 gig ssd os drive, 1-1 TB write drive, and 2 single 1 TB backup drives, and then send them to a cloud...? the reason I ask is i'm trying to figure something out for this in the not too distant..., I suppose i should have googled this before i even asked...

I bought one of these: eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/TB2SRKIT0GB/ and stuffed it with four 4TB drives. I run it in RAID5, so now i have a 12TB external. if one drive fails, I can just replace it and not worry about any data loss, as the data is copied across all 4 drives. In addition to that, that entire external plus my internal HD is all backed up on www.backblaze.com. so i'm not that concerned in a drive were to fail.
