Kind of a weird question for this group, but..
I play in a small pit orchestra for the middle school musicals where I work. We usually end up with 3 to 5 players in the pit. We have pianist and I usually end up playing percussion/drums or bass/guitar. But this year we're doing Fiddler On The Roof and won't need either of those. I'll probably play some viola to complement our violinist in places, but I'm a hack on that instrument and won't be playing it much. So it would be nice to get out a controller and have a few decent clarinet, flute, strings, etc patches. Something that would run either on an iPad, like SampleTank, or perhaps something to run on the school macbooks (currently all they have is GarageBand). It's a "Broadway Jr." piano reduction so in many cases I'll be reading the instrumental cue off the piano score. So it's got to be simple and easy to switch between patches, but I'd like to have some decent sounds.. any recommendations?
