Ok, i searched high and low for an answer to this, I got nothin! the commit to track dialog box in PT makes no reference, and has no parameters to control this, so as your mixing along your merry way, and you load up plugins, you may start to see your CPU getting taxed(in my case it's limited latency that i want to free up), so the logical thing to do is commit heavy hitter plugins to tracks, to free up your CPU right?.... right, except PT doesn't seem to have an option for carrying plugins that you DON'T want to commit to the newly committed tracks... if that makes sense? If I'm not missing something here, this is a monumental short coming on Avids part. It would mean i'd have to drag all the remaining plugs off the old, and on to the new tracks, and then hide and inactivate all those old tracks after the fact, which is an enormously time consuming PITA..... mehhhh......
please someone tell me i'm missing something simple here...

Thanx Kcat, well i figured out that i have a keyboard problem, i cannot get the freeze or commit up to insert option to show up on my monitor, I thought maybe it was another HD type lockout by avid, see what they've done to me, i jump to immediate "how are they trying to screw me know" conclusions haha, I gotta get a new keyboard... dang it! If someone knows how to make a magic track pad magically rt click? that would be pretty magical, the idea that it doesn't have a rt click option that i can find, must mean that avid is now running apple haha 8)

Yeah - what they said...
I'm trying to figure out why they felt like they needed to have a Commit and Freeze function. I guess if you want to just get it over with and commit a VI, you commit. If you just want to do it temporarily, use Freeze. OK...nevermind, just answered my own question.
