im going to be getting a mixer to sum through. never had one before.
do you guys run individual cables? im trying to picture some kind of snake because it would be so much easier but it gets so wide at the console it seems like you would have to splice it down a couple feet.

Stay in the box. You don't want to open Pandora's box.

Stay in the box. You don't want to open Pandora's box. Can anyone comment on if (and if yes, then how) the Software based Harrison Mixbus sums any differently than other DAWs?

Stay in the box. You don't want to open Pandora's box. I think its already to late. I run a single cable per line in because it was just 160 Euros. I use cordial cables for the console. I have no idea if something like a multi core cable exsits for studio use?

I have no idea if something like a multi core cable exsits for studio use? Multipair cables have existed for well over 50 years and are in used in virtually every studio (at least pro studio's) in the world. There are dozens if not hundreds of providers worldwide, with all sorts of configurations, fan outs, connectors, etc. to suit any need out there. My favorite US provider is redco.com

Cruise around EBAY for a while. You can find used snakes for a lot cheaper than new a lot of times. If you don't see something, keep looking over time, these types of things come and go pretty quickly.

I use a mixture, where single wire makes sense it makes sense! If you buy used know how to solder!

Can a console be synced with a DAW so the channels on the console correlate with the tracks in the DAW?

My console has MIDI, SPDIF and AES/EBU but my interface only has SPDIF so I guess the answer for me is no. Thanks though!

I remember reading people getting the midi to work with their daws on the 324s but it was a little wonky. I have a small dream of owning a gsr24 someday. Just above my budgrt right now though.

I remember hearing that too, I'm just not talented enough to know what I'm doing. I do have a Roland Ume-One adapter I use with a Korg synth as my MIDI keyboard, maybe I'll plug it into the console and see what happens
