Ok, so my work has FINALLY started to pick back up again and I'm gonna start knocking down some debts and some must do's off my list, so right to it....
Maybe some of you remember I started giving my 1993 Taylor acoustic a finish strip/face lift a couple years ago?.. well, I have since dropped the ball on it(a long story... mehhh)....
To make a long story short, a while back i heard and saw some of the guitars that Scott Liebers has built(yes, the same Scott behind the 2520 Red dots and new 1731 "Green?" dots haha), well.... i was certainly blown away with his work, the guitars sounded/looked beautiful!!! and they are raved about by the folks i've talked to who own them, so after some pining, I contacted Scott, and he was gracious enough to accept my request to build me a new Liebers custom D-28 type acoustic! It's currently underway, and I'm so friggin excited I can hardly stand it! He's doing some really amazing stuff on it(i'll save the details for another thread).
Ok, so to add to this, i told Scott of my being stuck with my Taylor refinish, and he again was kind enough to accept my suggesting that he could possibly save my debacle attempt to re finish my Taylor?.... yesssss.....
So here's my question, I live in SoCal, Scott lives in Minnesota, shipping my Taylor scares the crap out of me! I've owned and loved this guitar for over 20 years, it's priceless to me, so i want to get a ridiculous amount of insurance on it so in the disastrous scenario that something happens to destroy it, or it gets stolen, i can fly straight to nashville's Carters guitars with a $10,000 insurance check, and buy a guitar worthy of taking the heartbreak away.
I know this sounds a little ridiculous, but i know some of you have that instrument out there that is priceless if only to you, and this guitar does sound absolutely "un taylor like" stunning imo.
so my question again is.... Shipping method? and best place to get GREAT, no BS insurance to cover my baby?
thanx for reading my long winded! if you get a chance you should check out some of Scott's work, he also builds some insane Mandy's!! he's like a secret/not so secret, all things music beast! haha
