I was "on it" in 1997.
But, no....I've never understood why Steinberg doesn't simply role the UI into Cubase...quit giving us mixer UI changes and dropping MCU support and role in the WaveLab UI into a "mastering room" or something.

I haven't used it since early 00's. I started using SoundForge before that, so WaveLab never felt right to me. I agree, it should be incorporated into Cubase.

Same here, back in the early 00's i used soundforge followed by wavelab for demo mastering and cd creation. From what I remember though it was pretty good and I can only imagine its gotten even more advanced.

Frank, tell me about it. What are you using it for? Is Cubase your main DAW, then you master in Wavelab? I'm currently mixing out through a console and am thinking about capturing my 2-mix on a different machine/interface. I thought about picking up a second Pro Tools license, but it might make sense to go for Logic or Cubase. When looking into it a bit, it seems like Wavelab might be a better decision so I can capture my mixes directly into a mastering program for some additional self mastering if the project isn't being shipped out. Any likes/dislikes with Wavelab?

Any likes/dislikes with Wavelab? Jesse- I am using it to master clients who don't have enough money to pay me let alone pay a mastering engineer, even though I always tell them to pay a mastering engineer. So, I use Wavelab to master and send to CD house for projects recorded either with Cubase 8 Pro or Pro Tools 11. I import the files at 96/24, but I know you can record directly to Wavelab even though I've never done it. Like all software, you have to put in your homework, but I didn't find it particularly difficult to understand. One drawback imo is that you have to daisy chain your hardware when mastering. Even though they have a Master Channel, you can't use different insert slots for different hardware. I usually only use my Smart C2 and GML 8200. So, it's a bit of a hassle to have to cable them together when I have them set up individually for Cubase and PT. As a bonus, I think the Crystal Resampler sounds great and the audio montage is easy to understand use once you get the hang of it. Let me know if you have any other questions `Frank
