So that's that, apologies to Jeff for the tangent, which has nothing going forward to do with his company. But check out this Altec 9061 EQ with Vemaline knobs. It came to me this way.

Hey friends, I've got good news and bad news. Nothing horrific though so don't freak out! Good news: 1. The temp knobs finally came in last week. They look great considering what they are. 2. The CAPI LC53A faceplates are back from being "rebranded" and they look awesome. 3. The CAPI 553F faceplates also came in and look equally as awesome. I know noah shain will be happy about this!!
Bad news: That's the only faceplates done so far. If I was told correctly, the VP26 and VP28 plates should be here this Wednesday. I guess the rest will be following shortly. My screen shop is typically outstanding. I guess the guys in the back took the 10 varieties of some 1400 odd faceplates as "one" job instead of 10 individual jobs. I think the production manager finally has them on track.
The speed bump continues.....

Damn, I've missed a bunch of good stuff lately. Those eq's are exciting and the new look is great Jeff. Makes me wonder if I should change the knobs on my current VP28's......

I will have "nip-n-tuck" kits available for all modules as soon as the new knobs arrive. Those will include a new CAPI faceplate, new CAPI control knobs, required inserts and pushbutton caps if they are different. These "nip-n-tuck" kits will be offered at a very nicely reduced price to make the facelift financially painless.

The damned knobs, as JS will confirm, are the biggest pita of the whole mod I've been doing. I don't wanna remove or replace another knob as long as I live. The new ones are dang nice looking though! Good work Jeff!

bump for more info on the LC25 & 40. Im thinking the 25 for kick & 40 for snare would be kick butt...
Im going to be picking up some SL red dots, would like to know how many op amps each unit will require.

Im going to be picking up some SL red dots, would like to know how many op amps each unit will require. They will require two 2520 style opamps for each EQ. I have finally gotten caught up with the changeover stuff so was able to build the first LC25 proto. I have been working on it in-between orders and so on the last 4 or 5 days. It took some tweaking to get the switched cut/boost to work how I wanted. It has also taken some time to tweak the gyrators. Due to the way the cut/boost switching is set up (impedance), I had to fudge the gyrator math to get the exact result I was after. Kinda of a pain in the ass to be honest. Much like tying a piece of rope around a spoonful of jello. Anyhoo, I have one last round of testing/measuring to do and then I will order, switches, metal and the next Rev of boards. The switches have an 8 week lead-time but I had to be 100% sure that was the road I was taking. My last task of measuring is to make sure the BW at lower settings is what I am after. I have it dialed in for a one octave BW and all is great at +/-12dB so I am not expecting trouble there. All of that said, these are still a few months out. The last two months have really set these EQ"s back. On that note, no sign of a faceplate delivery today.....

I have experienced this math jello. Theory is a one dimensional view of the interactions, takes a real prototype many times. Results can disagree with math. Have fun.

Alrighty, I finally have some stuff in stock! As of right now, I have all modules except VP25, VP312 and VP312DI. Those should be in early to mid next week.
I have also added secure credit card processing directly to the store site so no more redirect to PayPal unless you have funds in your PP account you want to burn thru. I have done a shit load of testing and it all seems to be smooth. Someone try it out and let me know how it goes!

And noah shain wins the prize for first official CC transaction at the store. I think I will help him mod his 1608 2-mix ACA/booster as a token of my gratitude.
