The new series units seem very interesting and not much talk about it. I have had mind set on the Wooly Mammoth stuff, but after reading Noah Shain's posts here and on the site that must not be named, I'm starting to lean over to the OS stuff. Specially the M-A-S 8101. I will have to demo that unit eventually. There was also some talk about 500 versions.. www.overstayeraudio.com/m-a-s/Any input appreciated. noah shain? If you don't feel all is said already..

The master and servant is good...really good. I think the 500 stuff is on hold, if not abandoned. But....Jeff T has some INCREDIBLE stuff in development. I think it's in Beta. I'm gonna try and drag him over here. I can't say enough about Overstayer. The company is about to hit a stride. Lemme knock on jeffs door.

The Overstayer stuff looks interesting. The MAS, the Silver Bullet, and the Wooly Mammoth stuff operate differently, but seem to have the same goal, adding analog character to tracks and mixes. The Silver Bullet also addresses some workflow issues, but it would be really interesting to compare the sound of these pieces.

Finally just got the M-A-S in for trial. Perhaps not a night and day thing, I didn't expect it to be. But it is def capable of being non subtle. Just as mentioned from Overstayer and users it seems be able to shave off peaks in a subtle way, not like a compressor though, so when you trim the output so the VU reads the same with unit active/bypassed, when it's active it sounds like 1.5dB louder. I think it also adds a bit of excitement and overtones, even without the built in eq, and brings out details in an appealing way. To me it's one of these units that make it sound a bit more 'like a record'. Most likely a keeper.

When i was talking to Them recently they said they were going to re-release the original 1/2 rack unit in some form soon. Maybe thats the 500 series stuff. I have an older Fet stereo overstayer compressor not so sure how they could squeeze that into 500 series?

Seems to me this sort of stuff might float better in 500...

At Overstayer's start page it looks like they are releasing something new soon. Looks like the 2U rack unit they've been showing at their Insta pages for some time. Out of focus pics of course. NAMM coming up.. Wonder if I'll regret I got the M-A-S.. www.overstayeraudio.com/

Everything (and i mean everything) looks like some seriously bad ass gear. Especially if one was ITB. That said i really want to see the insides and hear some real world examples.
