I'm looking at both the hardware Eventide 4000 and Lexicon H3000 D/SE. I have tried to get by with one main reverb-my Bricasti M7- but realize I need more flavors. I realize these Eventide's are also used for their delays, pitch shifting etc.. So, that's a bonus as well.
So, I'm wondering if anybody has used the hardware Eventide's, and in particular what your view is regarding the hardware vs the software.
So, if you have experience feel free to add your thoughts.
Thanks,
Frank

All the eventide hardware is great. Certainly a studio staple.
The software......
Well, not a great time to ask me. I'm still reeling from them jettisoning a hugely expensive plugin bundle that I purchased, then charging $175 PER PLUGIN for upgrades. Not cool.

I've only got UltraChannel and UltraReverb which I got both on good sales. I like them! Use one or the other fairly often.
I'm really curious about the H9 stompbox from Eventide. Could be a more affordable way to get some Eventide hardware. Computer or IOS editor, lots of algorithms, small, stereo, instrument or line level input.

The H9s do look cool, but if your chasing the 3k sound there is only one way to get it!

Hey eric, Do you have any experience/knowledge about this: Eventide H3000 firmware OS upgrade: version 2.17 (D/SE)I want a D/SE, but there are many more H3000's on the market. So, I was wondering how difficult to implement and how effective this upgrade is. Thanks in advance for any info you may have. Frank

Frank Frank I I have never done one, but from what I have been told it is pretty much pull old chips put in new chips, If you feel comfortable switching DOAs or CPUs its on about that level. Any Tech could do it for their basic bench fee. I did not look at the details but if your going to do a H3/3500 upgrade make sure it's one with all the libraries !
