Totally understand. I am already sure it’s a nice mic, the issue would be whether it’s a good fit for me, which I couldn’t know until I tried it. Do you have any US-based dealers that have demo mics? Wind over the earth. Thanks. Inquired with them.

Ragan, I bought (2) B67-269 from Mark at Wind Over Earth. Transaction went well. I'm still thinking about picking up a Phelicity for a female vocalist I record fairly often, but I'd have to demo it first. Too much money to take a gamble on and I'd rather not pay a restocking fee. I am happy with the B67. It got the best sound from my upright piano.

Are the PSU’s inter compatible? They look identical. mics They will work but the b67/269 has a higher b+ voltage so the patterns will be a bit skew and output level will be either under or over spec. cheers

I have a 1961 AKG C12a, so I am accustomed to the sound. Overly accustomed to it, for its betters and worsers . IKWIM IN YOUR TEST. I prefer A and suspect it is an original, it has the 'fricasseed T' thing on every t and th sound, but that's part of what makes a C12a a C12a. The second factor is the two resonant points, one in the 7K (fixed the 5k typo) range and the other wide one centered around 300hz. There is more of this in B. Is it that big a deal? NO. I don't know if anyone has attempted to do an exact clone of the C12a before, and I would suggest they probably won't know because this is as close as it will ever get. PRAISE! And thank you for doing this and for sharing! How do you like it? I might be able to purchase one. I did have a 414eb brass for a while which I regret i sold. I've heard that the comb version is better do I'm curious

My studio is full of them. mics

If you have the opportunity to get one at a good price I would jump on it. I think people don’t realise how good they are and just think they are old 414’s. The other great thing is they have the 251 capsule which is worth more than a C12a. Otherwise I’d get a BN clone which is a great modern, more practical model at an excellent price.

I’m way late to this party. Just wanted to say thanks Paul for putting this together! I already knew how good the BeesNeez was but I thought “B” was the vintage…wow!
