Any thoughts on the UAD C-Max? I haven't bought a UAD plugin in years, mainly as a protest to their resale policy. But I'm tempted by the 2/99 sale. The Sound City plug has me all hyped, but I've already got killer room verb plugs. Do I need yet another? The Capitol Mastering comp also seems intriguing, but I've got loads of 2-buss comp plugs, and some really, really killer hardware. UAD is really good at hype. They've got a great marketing department, and some great graphic design in these plugins that make me want to buy.
Which leads me to the C-Max. I guess I could use a limiter. I've only got the FF one and one from TDL. And maybe the IK Stealth, I can't remember. I guess maybe I don't need a limiter? I tried it out briefly, and it def sounds good. Does it do some eq'ing as well? Really seemed to lift the high end to me.

I'm in the same boat. Considering picking up the same plugins. Sound City demo hasn't blown me away, but there a few things I like so I can justify a 2/99 purchase. I plan to demo the C-Max and Capitol Mastering comp today, but my plugin folder isn't lacking in comps or limiters. Curious, what killer room verb plugins do you use?

Oh geesh, I've got IK Sunset, most of the Liquidsonics stuff, Ocean Way, Inspirata Pro, Savant Quantec, Valhalla, and some others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Oh, and I've got a Bricasti. |

Compared Capitol Mastering comp with Unisum. I think I prefer Unisum, again only tried it with one song. Going to keep testing, but I think I’m going to go with Sound City and C-Max for the 2/99 sale. |

No you don't need them. You've clearly got enough reverb things. None of which suck. I'd look at the TDF GE6 if you want another limiter. Also if im not mistaken, C-Maxx is DSP only. C-Maxx looks VERY similar to Flux's older UI from Elixer limiter which is very good. |

TDL Limiter 6 GE? I think I’ve got that one. Between that and FF I think you're gonna be fine unless you're trying to get into full time mastering. But DMG Limitless and Newfangled audios Elevate are other options that sound different. I'd save you're money though personally. You already have great tools. |
