Been looking around for some racks/sidecars for a while. Nothing excited me, honestly. Argosy, Mid Atlantic, whatever. Looked like 1985. Anyway - I did a search and Etsy popped up. Found this site: gearhivestudioracks.com/Really great looking stuff. I'm going to get one of those sidecars. Pretty damn cheap for what you're getting. I'll keep it updated and post some pics when I get the unit. i.postimg.cc/gJwhtSNR/Screen-Shot-2022-07-14-at-4-16-48-PM.png

That's not all...that's just the sidecar selection.

My favorite racks are really simple 2 sets of rack rails conecter by a couple of pieces of 1 inch boards at the top and bottom a piece of hardwood on top and 2 hardwood sides that are easily unscrew. Not as pretty but when you have to trouble shoot or add new gear you will thank me! I will admit it’s a cheap skate version of the middle Atlantic slim 5 series, not sexy but again so easy to work on.

Pretty nice designs, I like the variety of footprints/angles of the different racks. Also, super decent pricing considering what others charge. Let us know how it turns out.

Those look great, especially for the price.

Those look great, especially for the price. Seriously. Go look up studio furniture on Sweetwater. It’s a wasteland.

They do, and their stuff looks really nice, but it will cost a fair amount more. I modeled my DIY rack (https://realgearonline.com/post/295509) off of the Audiorax specs. I built it for about $400 cheaper (granted, I used oak laminated plywood and not solid wood), but the Gear Hive would have been much closer in price to my costs and would have saved me a lot of time and effort (and mistakes). They've got some great designs as well.

Yeah - I'd rather pay $350 for someone else that knows what they're doing to do it...If anyone followed my initial foray into trying to build a diffuser in 2013 can attest to (DIY subforum somewhere.)

I saw those some time ago in a studio picture. I bought some hairpin legs on Amazon to build a little table based on those racks. Maybe I should build a few racks and sell them? Seems like fun.

Been going back and forth with Matt from Gearhive. Just FYI for the forum…we bartered a good for a service, so you will see an ad up top (I’m desktop view) soon. I’ll keep the thread up to date on how it looks when it gets here. If it’s good stuff, I’ll be buying some other things too.

It’s the shipping that would kill you, that and the shippers themselves, Yesterday I’m doing some work out on our buildings loading dock when the FedEx guy shows up. First he’s backing towards the dock doing the break jerk and jerk so I stop what I’m doing and guide him, well he ignores me and hits the dock hard and most of his truck load falls from the shelf, then he loads his hand truck with mostly unassailabled furniture six feet high , Guess what happens it all falls off, so he puts it all back on differently, but stlll 6ft high! Then he needs to go down a ramp now rather than being behind the cart so he can control it and make a quick turn he’s in front of it and trying to keep the stuff from running over himself. So after that he comes back to the truck for 2 small boxes! He could have saved himself time and grief by just splitting the load in 2 equal parts! I ran into the guy who ordered all the big boxes of furniture, told him if there was any damage to request the video from security. Honestly seeing just the last mile delivery these days I’m so glad to no longer be in the mail order buisness and worry any time a package arrives that isn’t in a shock mounted ATA!

I also like the Output stuff, my friend has the sidecar and it’s cool. Desks look more my aesthetic than the typical sweetwater fare.

I’m loving the quality and functionality of my new Dangerfox desk. I do wish they had some different rack options though. dangerfox.com
