A quick note to say apple have just announced a new 13" Air and 13" Pro with what they call an M2 chip . The big news for me is that they are capable of 24 gigs of ram. The CPU according to them is 18% faster than M1 also Cheers, Ross

Learned about the new machines as well. I was out at Apple Park today for the WWDC. Pretty amazing place, for sure and the structure itself is stunning in person. Just massive.
Couple of takeaways from the audio side of things were mostly when touring the new Developer Center. They did a demo in the theater section of it in which on your way in you were able to walk through the control room. I've got about zero knowledge on the broadcast side of things but they had two sections of control room, one with the NFL-looking control consoles and the second had one of AVID's high-end controllers. The display in the theater was incredible. 16 million pixels, 1000 ints (is that the brightness term?). Killer robot cameras and lighting stuff.
Big leadup by the MC on the Spacial Audio demo in the theater later which honestly didn't sound any better than ambient tracks coming out of my local theater. I'm not sure what they were going for, but I was sitting to the right of center at about 130 degrees and everything was coming from the front 180 like you're looking at a half-circle. Nothing immersive.
Second takeaway was a game dev collaboration room (there were several in the Dev Center) that had an Atmos setup with no back or ceiling-mounted speakers. I don't know much about Atmos either, so maybe I was missing something there. It was just a walk through in that stage.
I asked our guide at one point if she knew any details on who designed the acoustically controlled spaces but she didn't know. Anyone else have info? They were dead for sure but no idea if they actually sound good.
Overall, a cool experience and great to be out here in the Cali weather. Back to Texas tomorrow.
