I’ve currently got a heil pr40 on my ampeg 115 and it has been doing a great job. Wondering what other people like. I’m primarily tracking more aggressive rock tones

More often than not, I use a DI. I've had the Useful Arts here for a while and it sounds great, but I'm really fine with a simple DI into a good preamp and compressor.
When micing, Beyer TGX50, M88, or ATM25 are often my choice. I was on a kick of using the CMV563 on bass for a while...

I've just about quit micing bass. But when I do, it's an RE20.

Use DI more than anything these days but a U47 or md421 work great.

At home, plug right into my Lola mic pre and hit an 1176 after. Then after it’s tracked I duplicate the track twice. Sansamp plug on one channel (and flip the phase cause for some reason it does something funky, and the other gets an amp sim that sometimes gets tucked in there.
Studio is a di and a B15 with a 441 or FET47 depending on the song needs.

Blue mouse (transformer version) is tops for me. It’s s/n 52 so unsure if current offerings are different. It beats my LawsonFET47 by a hair, generally.

Perhaps worth noting, this is usually on a 70s svt into an 8x10 or 2x15. Often with a Rat providing some dirt on the way in.
I mostly do ugly music (punk, hc, metal, etc)

I’m kind of all over the place. It depends on so much. Last session I had to kinda go crazy to make sure I captured it all for any direction. Close up I had an e602 II and NU-100K, a VL-37A a couple feet back, and a DI into a 1272. Unexpectedly, I ended up using them all in the mix! Attachments:

RE20, M88TG, DIY-251 in supercardioid, maybe an e906... but it's been years
been doing the DWA DI (Wolfbox) thing exclusively for a few years now, love it, "that's my sound"

MMMMM mmmm mmmm . . . lovely, delicious overkill in glorious excess. I must admit, the sounds I was first getting wasn’t so pleasing. In fact, I was so disgusted, I had to walk into the iso, with all its bass blasting might, just to hear what was coming out of the amp. I walked further into the studio where the bass player was playing from, to tell him all he was getting out of the amp was distortion. Then, I saw he was using 3 distortion pedals all at once before going into the amp! So, I sent in my assistant, with ear muffs, to move the mics around until I was satisfied, and then moved the DI from post to pre pedals. Once the song really got going, I finally began to appreciate the tone the bass player had created and I’m glad I had so many options to make it work in the mix.

Kinda depends on what we’re going for and whether it’s the flip top or the SVT. But here are some of the usual suspects. Condensers: Roswell Colares Soundelux U195 Heiserman Type 19
Dynamic: D112 421 M88

AT4047 or a 421 most of the time. I sometimes try the Beta 52a, but it's a little extreme. Usually, if I feel it has to have a mic, I will use both and a DI. Typically the DI wins out in most cases. I seem to get players with noisy amps and at least the DI is clean. I can then put an amp sim on it if needed.

usually 47fet. sometimes 421, re15, re20, sm57. Always take a DI too, the music we do the DI is usually more important but not necessarily.

M88 - U47 - Blue KIWI
Depends what part of the frequency spectrum you're trying to feature - therefore the genre of the music.
Personally 99% of the time these days I just use a tube DI (Millennia STT-1)

Zod for DI, Soyuz 023 on a Marshall 4x10 w/Greenbacks via 50W Plexi produced something great though. Blend to taste.
