Wow, 64 of ram - you've really gone for the doctor! With 2TB SSD you wont be 2nd guessing your machine that's for real. Cheers, Ross When spending, for me, that much money on a computer, I think it's risky to go for anything base spec. The RAM is probably overkill, but seeing as there's no way to upgrade these ones, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
As for the HDD, I would've gone for an even bigger one, had it not been for the ridiculous prices Apple operate with. You can never get enough HDD space. Like, ever.
That's exactly what I was thinking and also bought 64GB of RAM. I went with a 1TB system drive, as I don't use sample libraries or anything like that. 64 gigs seems like a lot of RAM today, but some PT upgrade or plugin not even imagined today may make it necessary.

Ha. We were just typing out the same joke at the same time. lol, exactly.
A quick search will show dozens of threads on discussions.apple as well as macrumors forums with bluetooth frustrations and issues in the thread title. Even blog articles devoted to the subject. Apparently bluetooth and mac issues are longstanding. Hey, I'm not trying to complain, I just use the unifying receiver. I don't really need bluetooth on my Mac. It's sort of a convenient and flawed system in my experience regardless of platform. Still really like my m1. Looking for either a studio or pro mini at some point.
To be fair, maybe logitech doesn't make this easy for one reason or another. I have no idea the root of the issue.
There has been exactly one Mini with real BT (and Wifi) issues, due to a very small shielding sticker that was either missing or badly placed. That was years ago. There are numerous issues with BT in general, due to the vast amount of BT devices out there. I just tested about thirty BT headphones and IO boxes and only two of them seemed to work with any other device. None of them had specific problems with Macs in general, but some were just badly designed. Since people do not RTFM its no wonder there are numerous threads out there. Mac users expect it to "just work" as that is what usually happens. And stuff changes at an incredible rate. My test, fi, was useless, as the two "best of test" devices are no longer being made. Life is hard, sometimes.

Hey, good to know. Yup, that's what I meant by a convenient and flawed system in regards to BT(not Mac). It's just not great in general in my experience. Fun/useful when it does work, though.
Sure can be! Not because of BT though, that's just an annoyance.

Just bought one to replace my Macbook M1 Pro...because I'm a moron and like pain. Currently having to reauthorize all non-ilok plugs after migration. Already spent three hors trying to figure out why Trinnov wouldn't connect. Finally got it going.

The more plugs I have running natively on Apple Silicon, the more I like my m1 mini. Still considering the Studio, but not sure I need the juice at this time.

I've had mine for a little over a month now. And it is a total beast. It destroys my old WIN computer, which, by the way, is no slouch either.
One thing, though: I am unable to run even a single instance of Acustica plugins on it. They're of course famously power hungry, but I was able to run at least a few on my old WIN computer. Both computers have 64Gb RAM. I tried all buffer size settings, but there was no real difference.
Anyone else having issues with Acustica on M1?

I contacted Acoustica support and was told it’s because PT isn’t silicon native . Acoustica plugins won’t run on Rosetta

When will these companies port over? Ever? That’s the million dollar question, the answer is simple yet complicated: when they have to. So many of these companies have been through this multiple times with Apple. I was just at my favorite used Apple place and the guy was saying he has only seen a couple of Apple Silicone machines, problem is to many cheap Intel machines, only us true geeks are buying M.

When will these companies port over? Ever? Hard to say. I think I'm to a point where 90% of my plugs are Native. It's great. I imagine it might be a lot of work for a company with a large library. Different resources at different developer companies etc. There are a few lingering ones that aren't though. However I'm sacrificing them for now so I can run my DAW's native.

Yeah it’s let’s see if I put these guys to work on new plugins we will generate $, same resources rewriting for new silicon, very little $. Now Apple still is selling Intel? So I need to have anything new work on both? Ouch ! We are an Apple house, but man I get how tough they make it, I’m waiting to find out we will probably see 2 versions of the IPhone, one for Europe with mini usb, and for the rest of the world what ever offers superior profits over lightning!

Exactly! Love my M1 mini but I can see how that is difficult! There is nothing like Air dropping a session to myself or from a client though. So easy.

So how does one "stop" using Rosetta? I know that I was asked to download it when I first encountered something that needed to use it but, how do I tell if something is currently being run using Rosetta or if it still needs to be run using Rosetta?
If it's able to run natively, will a plugin or whatever just automatically do that once it's been updated to do so or is there something I have to do? Does Rosetta run globally for everything (all or nothing kind of deal) or does it only run for those plugins or apps that need it, and then individually quit running for those plugins/apps when they don't need it anymore?

It’s just a setting in the Mac you can turn or or off. Let me check.

I was able to do this in logic, although these instructions are for studio 1.
So, just use finder to find your daw.
“How do I switch between native mode and Rosetta mode? Locate the Studio One application file in Finder. Then press Cmd+I on the keyboard to show the application information window. Enable or disable the checkbox for “Open using Rosetta”. You need to restart Studio One to apply the change.“
