Looks like it’s an upgrade, no?

I'd buy it if that was the price, but I think phdamage is right. I've always wanted CL1B plug, just to learn it.

Ah damn, yeah I would have grabbed it too. I used the CL1b on the UAD platform years ago and liked it.

Next time I know I'm ready for mixing my own vocals, I'll try the UAD demo, just to see. Recently I accidentally used one of UAD's other LA-2A's, I think"silver", and it was much better than the one I'd been using for a long time. I really should say barely ever using..

Been trying a bunch of different plug-in comps lately. That softube/UAD CL1b is really good. The Pulsar 1178 is the one I’ve found that really feels like the attack on a real comp to me.

I was too WTF becasue Cl1B is so close to the real HW that even the HW like the plug in. I always wanted it but not for ø 300 bucks may 150 would be my last call.

I bought the Tube-Tech Compressor Collection for $139 on sale last May, then got the $75 upgrade to the Complete Collection. I don't think they sell the Classic Channel stand-alone anymore, only bundled in the collection.
I've found evaluating plug-in choices a lot quicker now being able to insert an AAX DSP version on a live vocal mic/bass DI without latency, and the CL 1B tends to win a lot on based on feel when singing/playing through it.
