Yes. Todd Rundgren produced it. Jim Steinman wrote all the songs for a musical project that was based off Peter Pan.
Steinman wrote the first four albums, I believe.

Todd produced Bat out of Hell and Utopia was the band. Always sounded like a record Andrew Lloyd Weber wished he made. That’s not an endorsement…. Meat loaf also sang on Ted Nugents Free For All.

His name was Robert Paulsen. Nope, that's Yacko Warner, and Pinky Didn’t Todd Rundgren produce at least the first album? Yup Todd produced Bat out of Hell and Utopia was the band. Always sounded like a record Andrew Lloyd Weber wished he made. That’s not an endorsement…. Meat loaf also sang on Ted Nugents Free For All. Roy Bitten and Max Weinberg both played on Bat out of Hell. The Weber comment is SPOT ON!

Given that they recorded in four high-level studios, and the quality of musicians for hire playing on a debut album ... I'd say that Epic must not have needed too much convincing to decide to back the project.
His voice was great and the theatrics worked well for him in the 70s.

His name was Robert Paulsen. Possibly the most chilling moment in the whole movie.

I believe Todd funded the record as no labels were initially interested until Cleveland International Records a subsidiary of Epic put it out. When Todd sold his production points he bought his place in Hawaii.

I’m not in on it. I should re-read. But I’m lazy. Fight Club? You have to watch the movie. Mr Loaf plays a central character and yes indeed... his name was Robert Paulson. At the same time... in case anyone else skipped it, check out pulp fiction. At least once. Can't say I actually know much of his music outside of dashboard. Really honestly not sure I could name another song. But I've seen him in a ton of movies & TV shows. Most have been pretty good even if its just a bit role. Then there's the rocky horror thing. He always had a crossover & seemed to stay legit in both. That's pretty cool. Could be as much a generation gap as much as anything else... the music. Outside of an ex girlfriend who completely adored the guy I'm not sure I know anyone who had a record. Maybe her mom did..? Anyway. 74 years young. Way successful. We should all be so lucky.

J it seams like because of his music success the acting was more for fun and about taking roles that he wanted rather than either building the resume or paying the bills. In others words he lived the life every actor dreams of!

Always appreciated how unique his sound was. Did his own thing and I can respect that✌🏻 P.S. Can we please let the man Rest In Peace without the usual Covid political b.s.? Well said, friend, well said. Rest in Peace, Marvin Lee 'Meatloaf' Aday! Thanks for all the great music.

In others words he lived the life every actor dreams of! If I remember correctly, he frequently stated that he still thought of himself as an actor who just happened to find a career as a singer. I also remember him saying that he still brought his “formal” training in acting to all of his roles with full character preparation, etc, even for the smaller parts.

I was told he was anti vax and apparently died from Covid. If this is true it is a terrible shame.
