UAD will soon be offering uncanny digital emulations of bassists, guitarists, songwriters and singers so you don't even need real people to create records from your bedroom...

Reading through the press release it says “ he developed and managed the Fire TV business”
so maybe … just maybe … UA are finally going to get a TV version of the 1176 going to keep the loudness of those pesky ads in check! I know I hate the sudden volume jumps that gave millions scrambling for their remotes :-)
All buttons in I say! :-D

Machine Learning (ML) is used to model the dynamics between the features of the audio signal for a particular piece of gear. For example, how the frequency response, distortion, noise, gain, up/downward compression etc. interact.
All those emulations are ML-based models.

UA does a lot of pioneering audio work and has published some great papers. They just don’t release new hardware/software processors and are milking clones and emulations.
Stone Age stuff compared to say Crane Song and Tokyo Dawn. But how do you hype a musician with a home studio up for an STC-8 or Molot which they frankly, won’t figure out? But 1176 snare all buttons in wham bam cool sound? LA2A phat vocals? Hell yeah!
