In about 3-4 months, I could be in a position to invest more in my audio business, so I've considered getting 2-3 pieces of hardware. I'd never consider spending thousands on a piece of gear just for my own recreation unless I reliably had thousands in disposable cash for years. I'm thinking of things that can go across an entire mix, like a Bricasti, Cranesong Hedd, Massive Passive, Knif Soma, or even a used ATR-102. Sound and ability to attract clients are both big considerations of mine. My focus might be more on mastering than mixing. Not sure if I'd need to get a different interface. I've got an Audient ID14 and a UAD Apollo Twin USB. Maybe I need something with more inputs?
Assuming I get to move into a new place where I can setup exclusive studio space, I could look at acoustic treatment and new monitors too.
Any advice is very appreciated.

Silver Bullet.
Probably the single thing I have that I use every time. I mean..EVERY time.(well not on my classical stuff for obvious reasons at times)
Bircasti wouldn't hurt though but reverb during mastering isn't always useable. But for mixing it's amazing.
Then honestly, Id get a nice mic pre and a killer mic. For mastering you can do just about anything you want ITB. There are some great stuff out there thats OTB mastering but you're talking a lot of money to make it worth it there. Plus, if you really want to get into mastering you need to invest in your monitoring chain and room first. Gear comes after that every time. So for you, Id definietly be looking at different converter for mastering and some really high end monitors. Then treat your room to get it perfect as you can.
Then come back to gear and you can think about EQs/Compressors/stuff.

That Silver Bullet does look awesome.
I've got Seventh Heaven Pro, but I don't recall reading anything definitive about how close it got to the actual hardware.
It'll be a little while until I know where I'll end up living. Have to save some to go across the country again.
I've got LSR-305 monitors, but I've never found them good for actual audio work. Great for listening though. I've been using K701 headphones.
UAD Unison pres sound good to me, maybe I could try something else.

if you do get a silver bullet you should try for a mk2 because it has an eq.

Nothing wrong with the Audient.
What mics do you have?

I've got an Sm7b, MTR-231, RE-320, then some cheaper Samson and Behringer stuff. Not sure I'll be doing a lot of recording though. A lot of my gear is back in IL and I won't have access to it until March or April probably.

You don't have to spend a ton to get great conversion though. I've seen Lavry Black's floating on Reverb, Lynx Hilo is well thought of as well. Mytek made an amazing multi-channel AD/DA if you can find them used. Room acoustics and monitoring is a must to get straight first. I'm still working through getting my room treated, just got my corners filled floor-to-ceiling. Next is wall panels at first reflection points. I already have monitoring taken care of, courtesy of a beautiful pair of Tyler Acoustics MM5x's. KILLER speakers. Silver Bullet is on my list!
