Both OS's are going in the direction of slow, buggy, telemetry over function, arbitrary HW induced restrictive money pits. They're as bad as each other.. Out of principal and money alone I'd consider Linux but then I'd have to live with it ..

Out of principal and money alone I'd consider Linux but then I'd have to live with it .. It was never the PC vs. Mac hardware or software part for me. It was always the mac user ego posts that got to me. After pages and pages of "PC SUCKS get a mac" everywhere you just can't take it anymore. But any time you try to speak up for yourself suddenly you're a "troll" and threads are on the verge of being locked. At least Glenn gets it. He sees it like I see it. Yeah both can do the job and that's kinda the point.. One is substantially cheaper and doesn't come with the ego baggage, so you'd think if folks didn't care about the name/luxury factor they'd simply get the cheaper option.

Then why was my MBP (new) $300.00 less than the equivalent gaming laptop? Probably because I didn't buy it from Apple, also it did correct some driver issues (core audio), improved battery life by 5 or so hours for general use and it's better built then what it replaced. Sorry but there are reasons to buy a Mac outside of general egotism, it's specific use case scenario's for sure but again, reasons.. As for the Mac Pro mentioned, yeah that's ridiculous and I honestly couldn't logically find a reason to buy that over a custom built PC that would tear it asunder.
