I’ve been using UAD trident a couple times and thought it sounded great. Seems to be underrated.
If I want brightness I use the Studer A800 quite a bit, seems to liven things up with the EQ knobs in a musical way. Chandler one is always good.

Honorable mentions....the ssl native eq in the channel strip. I like the way that one feels, although I usually use it conjunction with the rest of the strip. And also, the UAD Helios eq. Midrange on that is killer for making tracks stand out.

I use the stock 7 band Pro Tools EQ all the time, for all kinds of stuff. Now that I have the Rule Tec plugins I'm leaning on it less for broad shaping and filtering. The only other one I use a lot is Massey VT3, it can be really great for focusing the mids on guitars. When it's not great, it's because you don't need it. The stock PT EQ is a really good simple EQ. I use the 1-band version a lot of HPF as well. TDR SlickEQ sees a lot of use for me. The red (russian) is really great on solos. There's something about how it makes things poke throughthat I like. Waves Kramer HLS (Helios) to make things sound woody and 'vintage.' Waves API (and) to make things sound a little harder IK Pultec, SonEQ or PSP Pultec to make things rounder. McDAP AE400 for dynamic EQ, but honestly it just sounds good as an EQ. I should get the AE600 to have shelves... Honorable mentions SieQ and Sonomus StonEQ 4K Both great sounding, esp on SD.

I have favorites I always end up using in specific situations: 1) Softube Summit (I use the channels strip for vocal EQ and acoustic instruments - it's a real unsung hero) 2) Crave 2 EQ (when I need to notch out something and find trouble spots - best overall EQ for fast work) 3) PA SSL 9000J (It just does what I need it to do with drums. It's the only channel strip I use consistently across all drum tracks) 4) Softube Curvebender (It's normally on my master buss) 5) Softube Tubetec EQs (I use this on the drum buss to add a little top and bottom 6) Waves F6 (I just use it to dynamically cut harsh frequencies in vocals and control odd resonances in upright bass)
I have dozens of EQ plugins but those are the ones I end up using the most.

I use the Arturia Triad-A once in a while, I liked it better than the Softube one. The Arturia 1073 I also use, these two are definitely sleepers. I think they're really inexpensive also. But they have character!

Fab filter q3 Uad pultec Maag eq4 Softube curve bender
Starting to use tdr slick eq more Used to use brainworx v3 but q3 has replaced it mostly
Almost forgot: I still use the old waves 550b all the time. It’s super grainy, but that’s why I love it on guitars and bass!

I'm yet another SlickEQ fan, and I tend to use the GE version for channels with its various colours, and the SlickEQ M on my mixbus.
SieQ is also great for adding attitude.
Maag EQ2 for top end air (I prefer it to the EQ4, which includes a row of extra EQ 'bumps' when flat)
I do like the Fuse Audio VQP bundle as well, although still find it annoying that the lowest setting on its Passive Filter is 70Hz.
Recently I've also fallen for Fuse Audio's free W2395C, for its Baxandall shelving.

But some day, my precious, it will be mine again.

SNIP TO GET TO THE POINT Waves Kramer HLS (Helios) to make things sound woody and 'vintage.' Waves API (and) to make things sound a little harder IK Pultec, SonEQ or PSP Pultec to make things rounder. Curiously, because I'm a curious person who needs to learn new things all the time, and I always think I'm missing something . . . What applications for and how to you typically use the Helios, API and Pultec EQ plugins? Seriously, love to have a little insight from you!

I like the Waves HLS ims boost and the high shelf into U-he Satin. 4 db boost onto tape. PSP E27 and Fuse VQP-258 too.. No effs given. Lower it later. The high shelves help the music survive all the crap I want to do to it without raising the distortion and noise later. Which I’ll do anyway

I also use the SSL native channel strip EQ a lot, but mostly as a secondary EQ for broad boosts and cuts.

What applications for and how to you typically use the Helios, API and Pultec EQ plugins? Seriously, love to have a little insight from you! Thanks for asking!! I use both the Helios and API on guitars a good amount, but for different reasons. The Helios brings out the woodiness of acoustics that I really, and it does a nice job of bringing electrics alive in a way that is just different from a lot of other things with just a simple boost in the midrange. I'm not sure if it's the frequencies chosen or the method of how it works. The API makes guitars point and poke a little (or a lot) in a good way. On vocals, The Helios high shelf really adds some life, it's 4dB steps (It's modeled after the Rolling Stones Mobile Helios) for the same reason it can work on snare nicely. I'm sure I've used the APIs on vocal, but I can't recall when... The API, being 'switched' instead of variable freq makes it easy to do the BD, Bass trick of boost on one instrument and cut the other the same way to make a hole, so I sometimes do that. The Pultecs in general, I like when I need to make something thicker and more euphoric. A think SD, a vocal that needs more presence, bass I want to be gushier, brass or keyboards that are a little pokey. I hope this all doesn't sound too hokey. It's first thing in the morning.

DMG Equilibrium is still my first port of call - going strong after like, what, 10 years?? Sometimes that's all I need. Its modeled curves still sound as good as just about anything out there. Would love a GUI refresh on that thing. - Also really dig the Rule Tec.
- Really like the Fuse VQA-154.
- Sie-Q has some nice "liveliness" to it.
- For Channelstrips, I dig the Plugin Alliance SSLs, the Focusrite, and the Lindell 80. I use the Lindell 80 a lot more often than the other ones, though.
- For Multiband Comp (which I tend to think of like EQ), I'm a fan of the Fabfilter MB.
- I've also just started getting into the TB Pro Audio DSEQ lately. It's early days with it for me, but promising.
- Sometimes, all a source needs from me is the Kush 458a. I know it's a saturator, but it pushes the upper mids or lower highs very nicely, and helps push a source through a bit.
- Occasionally Gullfoss.
- And then any number of Acustica plugins. I really like the EQs in Cream (EMI stuff mostly) and Pink (API) for tracks.
- On the Master bus, I love the Silver Bullet EQ section. I have a MkI unit. I don't push it very far, but a little lift on the top and bottom sounds "expensive."
I'm planning to finally check out the Tokyo Dawn offerings later this Fall when I have time, thanks to the continual stream from @tomegatherion . Seriously, Dan, TD should give you a commission!

I have to say that tonight I was playing around with a tabla track. The low drum is called a bayin and in raising eq on any plugin it has had issues. But I tried the Crave eq and viola - it really did the trick without distortion (at least what I could perceive), etc. I was amazed! (I am not sure I need that extra bass - but it was interesting to know that it could handle it.)

ReaEQ for reverb sends SlickEQ GE - the workhorse Nova GE - for resonances Ruletch Softube American if I really want the fixed API steps and curves to rein me in. Nectar 3 if I'm using the suite, but this has been getting replaced by Nova for cuts and SlickEQ for shaping. Softube Trident if I really want that early Bowie cut and crunch.
