This is the most forthcoming I’ve ever heard Brian May. Bravo, Rick. Really great video.

Wow thank you for alerting us JK - perhaps it should be required viewing for every aspiring "rock star". What a job of incredible talent that is and of course Rick (Beato) is doing a wonderful job as well. It's Classic. Cheers, Ross

Contacting my friend Javad pretty soon, he was a College chum of Brian's (also booked groups like this and Pink Floyd-early days-at his College). See if he has some Smile/Queen stories for us... Chris

It’s always amazing when the math doesn’t get in the way of an Artist’s imagination and they can just pour it all out as it comes to them with no mechanical limitations. The ideas are just translated to music seemingly effortlessly, it feels magical in an elemental way, like fire. Bravo

I caught this the other day. I love Brian May and I love his willingness to be involved in things like this.

Just the worst song in rock history. I think there may be other candidates :-) For me some of the charm is that when they did this, it was totally groundbreaking and the execution is really good given the tools at the time. But hey, taste is 100% subjective

Just the worst song in rock history. The greatest songs usually are. To someone. What is Queen's masterpiece? To me, it's off Innuendo. Show must go on, Don't Try so Hard, Innuendo itself. What are the bombastic majestic over the top masterpieces of all time in rock, pop, progressive metal etc? They're all bound to draw ire and revulsion from some . . . but revered by many. Rain song? Court of the Crimson Kind? Firth of Filth? Abacab? Funeral for a friend? All terrible songs. ;-)

Vivid memories of listening to both records (cd's at the time) and although Innuendo didn't grab me like Queen's other records there were some songs on there that had something. Felt like Freddy was trying to give his all toward the end maybe. My buddy has a few Queen master dumps -> PT and as Rick Beato points out, they're stunning. "Let's all sing around one mic and get this part." C'mon, man. Insane talent. +1 me on a Beato watcher that had no idea Beato was that talented. What a gift.

Check out the vid where Rick plays obscure piano chords unseen to his son - the boys ear allows him to nominate every note of the chord and in the correct key. Cheers,Ross

One aspect besides all the amazing skill and talent that went into Bohemian Rhapsody is that it was plain old FUN! Four rock guys being an operatic chorus, an opera theme in a rock song.
What amazes me is that it didn't sound pretentious like so many prog-rock tracks. It was obviously a blast recording and you felt it.
