I’m having a difficult time running my TC Reverb 4000 as an I/O into Logic. I’m using the AES in-out from my Symphony and the unit is clipping too easily. Frustratingly it doesn’t have a manual wet/dry mix on it (it does it internally) and when I push up the fader on my reverb bus it clips very early. I have tried adjusting my send level on my vox channel, I’ve tried dialing back the digital input. I’m at a loss.
I can’t figure out if it’s something about the unit or the way I am using the I/O in Logic.

Have you had success with this in another DAW?

Good idea. I will try it in PT or Performer.

I know it can work, but I've never had a separate reverb to try. I'd love to get the Eventide H9, but it's just too pricey. One day I'll grab a Lexicon PCM 70, just for fun.

Reverb sends need to be full wet on the FX box... I've used a TC m2000 for eons without problems. Clipping? Never if anything it needs a gain bump on the output side.
Used it via SPDIF loop with a Focusrite & windows no problems.
These days with Logic I default send 1 & 2 to outputs 15 & 16... feeds the analog ins which return to a pair of channels on the SSL... console summing here not a true ITB loop but still never clips. Not unless I get stupid.
Check your IO settings again. And the wer dry mix. If the mix isn't 100% wet it could clip and also create phasing issues...

Damn it I hate it when he beats me to it! 😎 All I will add to what the moose said is a limiter on the send is seldom a bad thing! Also an RTA on the send to see where your clipping can teach you a lot. The first thing I do when I find that I am either clipping or distorting is reach for sound tools on the iPhone to find out where I’m clipping, it makes tracking down the why easy.

Logic also has a 1k signal to test gain staging in the utility drop down maybe test level too ?

For some reason when I use an external reverb I’m getting a feedback loop on the vox reverb bus. When I use a plug-in that doesn’t happen.

May there is something routed the wrong way internal your interface's routing matrix? I used external verbs with logic for 4 years before I went 95% ITB, and it always worked flawless with the I/O plug in.
It's simple.
HW REVERB OUT -> INTERFACE IN INTERFACE OUTPUT -> HARDWARE REVERB IN
Open the I/O plug in on an aux object.
Set the right in and output in the I/O plug-in, make sure the parallel knob is not engaged. Ping the latency dry.
Set the HW verb to 100% wet. Have fun... using the HW verb like a plug in.

The limiter did the trick. I was using a reverb with a long decay. Thanks
