www.softube.com/overstayer-masHmmm. I have an Overstayer SVC and their original FET compressor. The MAS has always interested me. Maybe I'll have to try this plugin. The thing is, saturation and distortion still seems to be really hard to get right in plugins, and who has better hardware saturation and distortion than Overstayer? Not many.

I’ve been using the UAD VSM-3 for giving distortion to the high end on vocals recently. Seems to actually sound really good. I was surprised that I felt I got what I wanted from it. I’m no seasoned engineer but I felt like it was giving sizzle that was reminiscent of hardware. I only go about 5-10% mix on each harmonic knob in the HIGH setting, felt less murky than the Black box plug and other distortion plug-ins I’ve tried. Might wanna try that one too if you’re looking for distortion.

Never met one of these that I liked. Johnkenn, have you tried the UA vsm-3? I have. Just could never find a useful situation to use it. But that’s just my take - I’m sure there are people successfully using these distortion things.
