In previous KM84 threads I've argued the point that Neumann should re-release the 84 only to have many here say it will never happen. With prices like these I personally think we're approaching the tipping point where Neumann would be crazy not to.

Jeepers! My boxed pair of KM84’s are better than those and had brand new capsules fitted in 2016.

That seller is also not getting anywhere near that. Not half that.
I could put up an ad right now with a pair of KM84 for $42,600. It doesn’t mean anything.

This will seem like a deal to some, and surely keep the used market prices very high. |

What are they actually going for in real life? Four or five years ago they could be had for $1,000-$1,250 USD a piece. Have they appreciated to $1,500-$1,800 now?

Ended auctions shows $1700-2300 apiece. International auctions shows some pretty ugly ones from $1100-$1600. 18 months ago there were always a couple cases of pairs for $600-1000. Also shows a pair of KM140's at $1800, which is up about $600. |

Don’t take the acid during breakfast time… Used ones here in the EU STLL go for the same numbers depending on their condition. 1.2 k to 1.5k. I’d rather use a pair of the MK012s before I pay 7.5k for a used microphone. |
