Hi!
My apologies if this is the wrong place for this - just figured I’d catch more attention here than in the classifieds...
I run a high end studio in Scotland, U.K., and we are huge Heiserman fans - already have a pair of H47 fets and a pair of Type 19s (SN0003&0004!!)... problem is, we run 2 rooms simultaneously, and we need more!
We’re in the market for ideally another pair of Type 19s but would potentially settle for a single - have contacted Heiserman directly but I don’t imagine they will have stock available to ship within the timescale we need! It’s probably a long shot as I can’t imagine anyone wanting to move on such a great mic, but if this post makes you consider it, please do let me know!! 🙏🙏 thanks,

I didn't know anyone had any beyond prototypes. They weren't listed on their website when I looked. Vintage King is listing them, but not in stock. I'd imagine the stores will get this mic first.

As far as I know this mic is the one Heiserman does not sell directly and designated for a traditional dealer model. If the dealers are out I would guess so is Heiserman. I don't know many people who have this mic but the one friend of mine who does loves them.

Heiserman was offering some sort of pre-orders on them for a short minute, but it wasn't something you could find by just going to their website (link provided by email and maybe DM on some forums?). They were definitely at a few dealers. iainhutch - Just curious for more first-hand experience - what uses are you finding for the Type 19's regularly?

I'd love to hear a sound example. I need something versatile to record all kinds of things in the studio and also field recording for video.

well in a pinch you might find a Gefell m71 might sound similar since it is an transformerless M7 fet mic.

Hi Iain! I think we can get you a pair. I’m out of the office but I’ll get back to you via email later today. Thanks!

Hi everyone, Thanks for all the thoughts - I found a pair in stock with Front End Audio and they’re on our way to us for early next week - a great result... we’ll now have 6 Heisermans in the studio!! As to what they’re good for: Beautiful on one of our upright pianos with the felt damper on - more depth and dimension than the Schoeps CMC64 Which I would normally use by a long way!! Best mics ever for Hammond Leslie in my opinion too - I’ve used Coles 4038s, Flea 49s pairs but the Type 19 pair sound smooth, clear and deep all at once and beat out the other options... Also had great results with them on strings & drum overheads... and on of our other engineers swears by them on Tom bottoms and said they turn the toms into a whole new instrument... I think they’re all round fantastic; and there’s nothing utility about their sound; as versatile as they are... glad we won’t all have to fight over just 2 at the studio now! Cheers, Iain
