I am planing to change m workflow one more time.
I said it last year its getting more and more down to the fact that I don't like the Névé 1073 Sound anymore.
Everything is colored and Acoustics often get a Zing on Top. Not a Zing in a good sense a transient that's there but represented in a non-pleasing way and nothing helps it really, its imprinted often.
I asked my retailer for something extremely pure and clean, sounding big at the same time...... He advised me to do some research on the Buzz Audio MA 2.2B
Any experience review is welcome, also other suggestions for clean and big sounding pres.

Clean with some body would be a Hardy M1. I have a four channel version with the output transformer option. Really nice preamp. Always works on acoustic instruments and vocals. Not my first choice on drums but most everything else is great.

For clean and big, another option to consider is Cranborne Camden EC2. I have the 500 series version and it is my most used pre.

BIG fan of the Buzz, i used to use an early one about 10 years ago at a local studio.
Clear, fast,no noise and not hard in any way.

I may end up having all the Buzz units before it's said and done. Excellent gear. I don't have experience with this one, but I've also researched it and like what I read.

Yep agree with the description. Very true-to-source sound but gently softens the high end, not rolled off, just not as spiky

I use the Buzz Elixir 500 as my go-to preamp, which has Tim's BE-40 amplifier circuits just like the MA2. Sweet open high end, tons of gain, very low noise. Excellent match for a darker mic, especially ribbons. Beat the pants of my Heritage 73 with the AEA ribbons last weekend. Plus I've had a great time visiting Tim in his shop, fascinating to have him walk through the components and topology (even if most of it went over my head).

I have the buzz Audio arc 1.1 channel, strip. I really enjoy there eq. Yeah its clean but i have never noticed it was too clean. I used t own a silver model grace 201 and that was very clean. I bought the arc new a while ago i should probably use it bit more but i tend to reach for other gear first for more colour.

I used to own one. Had it for a few years, but never bonded with it. I much prefer the Kush Omega for clean, not sterile and I think the Millennia pres are beautiful too. That’s just my taste though and should in no way stop you from auditioning one. Good luck!
