They are really clear that when you are tracking in Luna, you use DSP to make the low latency work—so any track that uses ARM is DSP. When you are mixing, the Luna extensions use the CPU. UAD plugins use DSP like always.
I knew this before you posted, but it was clearly typed out in the link you posted.

Same "similar" as Pro Tools Carbon DSP with Pro Tools in this way, but hey, it's the "value" option even though that's just relative in this case.

I think UAD can be a great value if the price point is right. It's just that better price point usually only comes in December when it's part of a bundle. In this case, I'm just annoyed that they want me to spend $150 for the updated channel strip. Should be $50-$75 tops for current owners. And for the exact same sound and general functionality, except the GUI is in console format, I'd need to spend $350. I might look past that even if I didn't already own something giving me the same results, just perhaps a different workflow. I'm so use to calling up plugin windows now. I can hold off on this until the right opportunity comes around. Luna is still an experiment to me, tracking full bands.

The new version isn't the exact same sound. There's new output section modeling and the 560 sounds different fitted into the strip as opposed to the 500 series version.

Any plans to implement it for additional inputs too?

Surely that doesn't have to be Mac specific feature?

Coming soon to Windows. Just missed this release due to a late breaking issue. Thanks for your patience.

Uh...what does that mean? The RTL on different units has always been slightly different. As I understand it, UA has now created a firmware update to make them all the same. This is nice for when cascading different models, so that everything lines up the same.

Neve and ssl, must be in the wings, and perhaps Trident , Helios, etc.? I've been hoping for the whole Harrison board for a long time.

My price for the API Vision strip is $149 instead of $299 since I already own the legacy version. I'll probably grab it when I have a coupon, too.

This is nice for when cascading different models, so that everything lines up the same. And it will compensate on the computer for the slight latency inbetween units! Very important. This is where adat fails hard

This is pretty huge. I wish you could do it for my ADAT lynx converters but I understand that isn’t possible.

I have just pulled up the GUI for JUST the new Vision strip in Pro Tools. There's no way I'm gonna be able to resist this. Damnit.
So somebody help me out here - if I buy the Vision Emu Bundle, do I get the upgraded vision strip too? It's everything except the EQ's, right?

From ua plug in blurb:
“The API Vision Console Emulation Bundle also includes UAD plug‑in versions of the API Preamp, Vision Channel Strip Collection, and API 2500 Bus Compressor, letting you track and mix in real time with Apollo and your favorite DAW.“

But after using the CS on a Drumbus and really pushing - it's pretty fabulous.
