SPX90 is pretty gritty. a SPX90 II is better. SPX900 is much cleaner though. Could be worth a look.
The plugin does look cool. They have a simpler delay as well thats a smaller controller. The down side to those is you pretty much need the hardware controller as the plugin doesn't have all the functions. So it's basically "hardware" at that point as you'll have to haul it around if you want to use it other places. THat's been the only thing slightly keeping me from getting the 2290 and DVT250 myself.

Soundtoys has a sale on the Echoboy and Echoboy Jr. $49, $29. I wonder if it's worth even bothering with. I do like my other Soundtoys plugs a lot. Echoboy is awesome

If I’m looking for some quick - like 16T - echo for a vocal I sometimes will turn towards an RMX16 or Lex 480.

Using IRs (some of them from PTF) with Liquidsonics Reverberate 3 is pretty much my favorite way to do ambience these days. Reverberate 3 is an IR playground and I tend to think IRs sound better than traditional algorithmic reverbs and delays.

I can't explain why but I think the Bricasti version in Reverberate sounds better than Seventh Heaven.

This company kinda weirds me out / confuses me. Impulse responses only measure linearities, but they make a bunch of 'tape emulations' IRs, and compressor IRs, and even microphone IRs, and market them like it's doing something more than just applying an eq curve you could conjure up in a few seconds with Q Clone. But I digress... The 2290 plug is pretty cool, but the real star is the little USB controller. And it's certainly NOT simple. Honestly, it's the most complicated delay plugin i own, by a lot. A definite requirement that you read the manual. But coupled with the controller, it's a powerful little tool and I dig it.
