Sennheiser hasn’t innovated since the original HD800, which is unlistenably bright without mods.

I knew they were shopping it, but I’m kind of surprised at who the buyer is. I have a couple of feelers out to see what people think of the buyer. Now a couple of conflicts for me on this one, besides the fact that I sold a ton of Sennhiser, I was a compensated endorser, Greg the president of Senn USA is a friend as is Kristy Jo who once headed the US buisness div.
I’m not sure what products actually fall into consumer, pro and Business. where will development of Neumann labeled headphones fit? Will pro dealers become dealers for this new entity? This could be interesting so let’s stay tuned!

I'm confused. Are mics pro or consumer?

I'm confused. Are mics pro or consumer? Pro, until you see them back at Best Buy.

It seems only soundbars and headphones are consumer. What about headphones with an attached mic?

See that’s what gets interesting about this, some are “pro” some “consumer” some “buisness solutions “. What’s out there in print just dosen’t cover it. Also nothing I have read says “ all headphones, there are Consumer SKUs, pro SKU’s and some are considered both.

One thing that's a bit reassuring is that Sonova seems to have money. They recently got 500 million investment capital. Besides, they're a healthy company with their own reserves.
So I hope they're also smart, in which case this shouldn't turn out to be a Harman-style pilfering run.

Have their been any corporate leadership structure changes at Sennheiser, Sonova, Harmon etc?
Corporate cultures and priorities can change like families.

Not that I know of other than the constant shuffle, but nobody really knows who makes the big decisions at Harmon since the Samsung buyout. Remember in the greater scheme of things other than Sony, Yamaha Samsung Harmon & Bosch EV the audio biggies aren’t really that big of companies.

Sennheiser yuk!
When my 0300 amp failed and needed a repair they basically told me to throw them in the skip and buy a pair of 0310's.
I will never buy another Sennheiser/Neumann product.

Unless you sell them to someone who will replace the drivers and convert them to passives with a diy crossover (or a MiniDSP), the old Klein and Hummel speakers are dead men walking. Especially with their low headroom and hitting the limiters so much affecting the life of the drivers. I’ve heard that from a few people about the Klein and Hummel speakers. It’s similar to the KRK and Focal breakup where KRK would refuse to service their speakers or supply parts used Focal/JMLabs drivers and Focal would supply new parts if you could get the part number. With Klein and Hummel, You can’t even do the repair yourself because the complex crossover has to be calibrated by them to the driver measurements. I’m sure you can do it yourself with enough experimenting and a wooden box, taking measurements of the replacement drivers outside.

The failed one got given to a friend as spare drivers for his - though he will have no way of properly calibrating them if he does replace the drivers. The working one got sold.

When are we going to get an HD 280 that’s as comfy as a DT 770 for half the price? Sennheiser never delivered on that.

All i can add is we moved from SENN to SHURE for wireless mics and they sound better for spoken american english, less eq moves. And I love my MKH series mics.

I always forget which MKH mics you've got, Doug. I usually have at least a couple MKH mics on my brain at any given time for video/film work in particular...
