Is anyone running Reaper under Linux? Now that I’m setting up my recording gear at home after the studio closure in 2019 I can afford the time to play around and self indulge somewhat. My 2012 MacBook Pro is getting close to the end of its life under Apple’s obsolescence model so I have been starting to experiment with running Reaper under Linux Mint on my MBP. Looking for anyone else’s feedback on the subject.

I've been testing it for a while, with Ubuntu studio 18. Runs fine, if you don't need a lot of VSTs. Lots of VSTs do run, but require Wine, a Windows emulator. I use mainly Reaper's built-in plugins.
Testing on a 1 GHz dual core Dell with 2 GB memory.
Unfortunately, upgrading Ubuntu studio 18 to 20 through the gui rendered the machine unbootable. I'll be checking another distro, as the culprit seems to be systemd. Sigh...
Currently, I'm looking at AltiX, a Debian stable based distro, but I haven't run it through it's paces yet.
