I need some good quality Word Clock BNC cables to clock my converters. I currently have two Apogee16X ad/da and my Dangerous Music Converts and I don’t know if $20 is any different than $50 up to $100. I see there are a bunch on the market and I just need a good quality cable that doesn’t break the bank. Anyone?

I always found most molded RG59/RG6 to work fine. In fact I found short inexpensive WC cables and proper termination better than expensive cables and no termination. If you have questions about proper termination ask the manufacturers of your gear, why ? Because they know if their design includes any termination. I also have found using BNC “ T” connectors perferable to looping through gear, but experiment T’s and terminators are cheap!

Yeah I just find using the T adaptors more stable over all especially in AVID systems

I've had Redco make them for me twice in the past. They will even make you a termination cap if you need one of those too.

I'll be glad to make you some with good Canare cable and solid BNC connectors.

Nothing makes any difference for the first 3 months and/or first 3 disconnections/reconnections.
But after that? You really get what you pay for!!

I tested a quad shielded high-end RG6 cable with brass/gold soldered RCA connectors vs. a cable that came with a cheap stereo. I was testing SPDIF bit dropping at 5MHz+..
The cheapest of the cheap cable worked just fine with no bits lost up through the multiple MHz range. The fingers on the molded RCA connector were a little flimsy but otherwise the very high end cable had zero benefit.
At word clock frequencies (about 10X less than what I was testing) you'll see no issues other than the connector quality. BNC connectors are inherently better at interconnections than RCA so just get something with a non-tarnishing finish (gold or hard tin/chrome) and you'll be fine.
