So, Eric has put his studio up for sale. Anybody interested?
Here's a great video where he talks about the history and his work there. I'm not sure, there might be somebody picking it up eventually, but I guess there'll be no rush. What a great bedroom studio to have, though...
Warning: that video is over three hours long, so stock up on popcorn.

Eric worked on a ton of albums that had great influence on my life in the ‘90s; have always wanted to try his Undertone gear. He’s relocating from LA to Vermont?

Probably moving to Grace’s hometown - or close to it.

I totally geeked out and watched that whole thing the other day.
I'm a huge EV fan and studying his work really made me a better engineer. His productions always sound incredible. Even his work from the mid-2000s blows most modern rock productions out of the water. Taking Back Sunday - "What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost?" and AAR - "Gives You Hell" still sound absolutely massive 10 - 15 years later. The mixes he did for 5SOS basically set the bar for modern pop punk.
A few years back, I started digging around for isolated tracks, samples, etc. from EV records and ended up with some really cool stuff. It was hilarious and awesome a few years later to see Eric make YT videos revealing he basically does the same thing.
Anyway, sorry, I'm a shameless fanboy. Anyone want to loan me $4 million?

This was listed quite a while ago, and I believe the deal is already done and that music will still be created in the space.

I think so, he mentions it in the video. I really like his work and his way of doing things. Very inventive. There's a bunch of great recording tips in this video, like in his other videos. Not to mention the great UTA gear he builds. Wish I could afford the UnFairchild...

Probably moving to Grace’s hometown - or close to it. Yes, appears so. They bought a farmstead and are converting it into a large studio complex. He talks about it at length here:
EV gives me a case of envy in many ways!

EV is a LEGEND!! I've watched EVERY video on his YT page in its entirety. SO MUCH knowledge being dropped and I learned quite a few cool little tricks that I hadn't thought of or used before.
EV's mixes are INSANE, his gear is INSANE... I love his use of mono to stereo trickery to give things extra energy, etc. He definitely defined the modern pop-rock sound in the 2000s, without a doubt. For me, NO ONE does it better.
Long live EV and I can't wait to see what kind of insane space he builds up in Vermont 😂😍👌

Yeah, I hardly noticed three plus hours going by. I also watched a few Andrew Scheps videos, but I could never make those five hours, even though they were entertaining too. It's hard to beat Eric Valentine's videos, so much information there...

it's his passion... it's infectious. He exudes, even via video, a love for audio/engineering with extreme intensity.

I must’ve missed that. Thanks!

It isn't so much trickery - more his USAGE of extreme mono moments transitioning to extremely WIDE moments to create tension, dynamics and moreover a extremely compelling experience for the listener (average or advanced). I think it's just inherently part of what he DOES to be honest. You can even hear it going back to his earliest work with his band T-Ride
