What a great Audio Engineer, and most importantly... By all accounts, a great guy too. Thanks Mr. H, for notifying us. Chris

Might have to put on some MJ and toast the master.

One of the few that contributed to the recorded music in a unique, elegant, and most important way.

A few weeks ago I started researching as many things as I could about him, (an old interview got me to break out of a rut actually) when I learned he offered a short workshop. And then I started thinking.. 1 week, cost about a months salary.. but itβs BRUCE SWEDIEN! I thought about it.. said to myself, I HAVE to do this!!! Then I thought about Covid, did more searches and saw he hadnβt been posting in a long time. I missed my chance. But what an amazing guy! He was willing to spend a week with some underlings and show them the ropes. www.inthestudiowithbruceswedien.com/bruce-swedien-class.html

A legend and a supremely musical guy. Loved every word I'd read about him, his career and his recordings. Wish I'd known him.

Actually enrolled for one of his weeks and ultimately said no due to lack of finance but i always thought I would love to talk with him about whatever came to mind. A true legend for sure. A great tory i read once was that "Billie Jean" was mixed around 90 times onto 456 1/4 inch and there was a tower of tape 90 mixes high in the control room. Bruce had said to Quincey that he thought they'd got it at mix 7 or so but Quincey urged him on to get more vibe or whatever . After 90 mixes they went back to the one Bruce had originally nominated. I hope he was on points for those records.
RIP Bruce
Cheers, Ross

My absolute favorite of all time. My dad used to play βThe Dudeβ, by Quincy Jones on vinyl all the time when I was a little kid. The way the sound jumped out of those big jblβs we had in the living room is partly the reason I got into music and recording. Another great one lost.

This is a huge loss. He did leave a great legacy, though. A huge inspiration and aural mentor to me. Thanks for everything, Bruce! RIP. PS βStarting Something,β off Thriller is one of my favorites of his.
