This seems to be a bit of a sleeper but the other day someone was raving about it. Anyone tried it?
Thanks

Haven't tried it but went looking for info on it just for fun. The frequency response looks a lot like the Audix D6 or the cheaper Audix F6 with a big scoop in the midrange.

No, but I've used what I assume is the predecessor... the n/d868, and it ruled. Easiest bass drum tone I've ever gotten, actually. That was just one session though.

Thanks I don't know about the Chinese made ND68, but the USA made ND868 was a great drum mic in general. Any drum in the kit. Really good on kick, but also small enough to sneak in under the cymbals on toms, good on snare, anything. Those mics were some of the very few neodymium mics I really liked - I usually find them too strident. These were not.
But like I said, I don't know about the new Chinese versions. Me, I'd look for the originals whiled they're still cheap.

It's nice, but the Telefunken M82 is a better microphone IMHO IME . . . YMMV TETO.

I don’t know about the newer ND/68 but the ND/868 is my all time favorite kick drum mic. I searched forever and nothing sounded right until I stumbled onto that mic...

I'm also using an N/D868 is was my first "good microphone" after the SM58 and $100 condenser mics. Still find it really useful. I'd like to shoot it out with the ND68 since I like a lot of the modern EV mics also, but I don't have one.
The sleeper in the line for me so far is the EV CO4 I use them on hi toms and sometimes guitar cabinets.

What in the world is a "TETO"? An abbreviation for "teetotaller"? Then I would be totally lying. I'm doing my part to keep the whiskey industry 'liquid' and also working on different fruit mashes now for make brandy, well, 'Mountain Brandy'. So far it's apples, cherries and Damsom plums. A buddy of mine is distilling grain alcohol just in case we need to kick it up a bit (likely). But, meh, T.E.T.O.
