Anyone have experience with Kinman Pickups? I picked up a set of Woodstock + at a crazy good price on Reverb a while back. I just got around to installing them on my MIM HSS strat...And...I kind of hate them. I really, really want to love them. But they're way too hot. And they have an ice pick, upper mid overtone that rips through everything, regardless of guitar/amp settings. It's ear piercing. But, they're quiet as hell and that's pretty cool.
I'm considering selling them for a different Kinman set, maybe the Blues or John Mayer set? Anyone have any suggestions or experience they can share?
P.S.
Its possible I just don't like the tone (or lack of) of noiseless pickups. These are the only noiseless pickups I've used so its hard for me to judge.

can you lower them more into the body of your Strat? As in, get them away from the strings?

Thanks, good idea, I'm going to experiment with that, but even if they improve I still think I'm going to replace them. They don't sound as dynamic as single coils should, as in how they respond to pick attack/pressure.

What generation are they? And yeah, try dropping those puppies down. There are helpful setup guidelines on the kinman website. Could also be the pots you’re using, 250k is recommended for less presence.
