Well was only a matter of time I guess. ddmf.eu/magicdeatheyestereo/DDMF released a plugin of the stereo version of the Magic Death Eye. I love the normal one, this one will be super cool to check out with the unique built in EQ curve. $99 bucks if you have the OG MDE plugin. I'll be picking this guy up for sure.

I'll probably be picking up as well, even though Unisum keeps blowing me away. I love the OG MDE plugin.

I need to check out that for sure. But that's more of a limiter and this is a huge sounding compressor. Bit different.
Im not a big plugin person but I have really enjoyed the MDE one. Looking forward to this one. The EQ is super interesting to me.
I bought it already!

I want but I don't know if MDE Stereo will get me something new to the table. The stereo unit is an actual different unit. Different compression character and it has the EQ built in to the compression not the output or input of the unit. Is a different plugin, but maybe not needed.

It was different enough to the original and I like the added eq options. I'm still getting my head around Unisum but with time I can beat what I like about the MDE, that said MDE only takes like 10 seconds to get what I want so it's worth it to me. I went ahead and grabbed it.

I am about to get the stereo. My mastering guy has the hardware stereo unit and it is incredible. I have the hardware mono MDE and it's unbelievable. I use the mono plugin all the time on the stereo bus (the "mono plugin" still processes a stereo signal) and individual sources. I can't believe what a good job they did with the plugin, it sounds just as good as the hardware.

BTW another HW alike sounding plug in is the Fuse Labs VCL4. Smash a LV with 15db GR and you smile because its near invisible.

I use the stereo a lot. It's very powerful and the eq built into it is very nice and useful for just a final kiss. Highly recommend both! The mono is awesome on a lot of stuff. I find I'm using it on vocals a lot.

Bought the BFriday package for $119. Sounds really good. Has a nice hefty, tight gravitas to it. I can only imagine how good the hardware sounds.....

I'm still loving the Neold and Fuse compressors. The Fuse compressors all do one or two things very well. What do these nail?

But for some reason the MDE called out to me more. The Unisum seems good for tweaky applications, which I tend to steer away from most of the time. Then it was Pulsar vs. MDE, and the MDE's won out. I've heard more raves about them than I have about the Pulsar. I do have the pulsar delay though for about a year and it's fabulous. But this BFri was all about hardware for me. Mostly used hardware to boot. Go figure. Another Emery Micro Baby (as a spare and for stereo applications) and Avalon EQ's. Both from friends who needed the $$.
