Does anyone know how to figure out what should be a very basic thing?
Just upgraded my LIO-8 with the 3D card. Now, I cannot figure out how to get Pro Tools to send audio out through any outputs but 1&2. I want to send stuff out to hardware and back in again. Nada! Zip! Nil!
I've read all the bullcrap, overcomplicated "easy startup" and it says NOTHING about routing outputs, except for monitors. Have had to send this thing back twice for repairs in the past four years. I am about to chuck this thing for Burl.
What am I doing wrong?

I’ve always found them to be very quick in responding, even on weekends and such. Likewise, did you try the MH MIO mailing list? Sorry I can’t help more!

Yeah. They got back to me. Figured it out. Definitely not intuitive.
Carry on.

3D is still beta and the documentation is too. I was in the same boat trying to understand output assignments.

Can Someone explain it to me ! I am cluelss since 3D The routing to outboard? In the Analog I/O window, make sure your set to -4 (or whatever is applicable.) In the 3D Mixer, Host is equivalent to DAW in the 2D mixer. At the top of the strip, load where your signal is coming from in your DAW. For instance in Logic, I use the I/O plug. My Main 2 buss is feeding the Nail. So on the 2 buss in Logic, I have an I/O plug outputting to 11/12 and returning on 11/12 (I'm using dual mono in the MIO set up, and yes, one of my Nail cables is wired out of phase...whoops!) At the MIO at the top of the two strips for the Nail I've loaded the Host 11 and 12 and in the return slot I've also loaded 11 and 12. Load an MIO I/O plug. Tell it where your outboard is - my Nail is on ULN8 Analog 1 and Analog 2, so on the first Nail strip, I tell the MIO I/O plug send and return from "ULN8 Analog 1." I'm currently using the ULN2 I/0 for a stereo room mic, which is why they are bypassed and I recently used one of the ULN8 preamps to give someone a sample of a microphone I have for sale and wanted to use the cleanest pre I had, so the one channel of the OCL I/O is also bypassed. The beige strips are ULN8 in/out, the green are LIO, the red ULN2. I keep 4 open LIO inserts for preamps. Hope that helps!
