I can see these products as getting some people excited. wesaudio.com/ngleveler/ngLEVELER – “Next generation Leveler” is analog automation system with convenient features for better studio integration. Besides its automation engine it also brings analog saturation per each channel which helps tracks to get more presence in the mix. ngLEVELER doesn’t have any controls, it is either manageable via: – DAW Plug-in – HUI controller – Or both wesaudio.com/ngbuscomp/• 100% analog device with +27dBu of headroom • digital control / fully analog signal path • VCA compression sound with four THAT 2181 VCA in signal chain, and one in side chain detector for each channel

Sweet. That bus comp looks killer. I have the Dione and love it. Looks like this adds switchable carnhill transformers that can be driven, dual mono and m/s, and variable THD.
It’s beyond me why more companies aren’t making plugin controllable/recallable gear like this. With my workflow it’s the only way I can work analog gear into my mixing/mastering.

What other analog gear do you have that has recall?

What other analog gear do you have that has recall? Just Dione and Hyperion right now. I use a lot of analog on the front end when recording to try to get everything 75% of the way there. Then plugins get me the rest of the way when mixing. Dione, Hyperion, and sometimes some tubes/transformers/op amps on the two bus to polish everything off.

Tegeler audio makes probably the most analog digitally controlled gear. Makes cool stuff.
Curious about the automation system. Though I just bought one...of course. But does have the channel count.

Yeah that Tegeler Schwerkraftmaschine looks absolutely badass. Like a plugin recallable and more versatile Vari-Mu. I’d get one if I could afford it.

Plus they use motorized knobs vs encoders which is cool. really though Id probably end up with the Konnector from there which is just a switching matrix but still cool.

I am curious how the ngLeveler would be used. Obviously on channel inserts, but what if you wanted to insert something else on the same channel? Would it be: Channel insert send to device input, device output to Leveler input, Leveler output to Channel return?

I think it's last insert in the chain.

I don't see how you would just use it like any other piece of analog gear. It's just an vca compressor.
Only difference is you have a plugin in the day that can control it and recall it.
