I'm trying to export some drum midi, but it's exporting each midi segment on a separate track instead of just one track. It looks like stair steps.
Anyone have an idea why? It's a Superior Drummer midi track. I've done this before with no issues, ugh..

It's because it always does that for segments. Glue them all together solves the immediate problem. But, it all depends on WHY you're exporting it....giving MIDI to someone else NOT using LPX will fail on a number of other levels. If they use lpx, you should give them a project. If you’re moving from one of your own to another, use LPX’s native abdulity to exchange tracks project to project.

Thanks popmann. much appreciated. I did have to merge the regions first, then it exported properly. It had been a long time, and I didn't remember having to do that. Since that happened, I should probably learn how to send separate drum parts just in case. My friend does have LP X and Superior Drummer, so it works fine. he has SD3, so I wanted to borrow his SD3 sounds instead of my usual SD2 sounds.

So, to do what you want, MJB, I would give him the whole LPX project....if that's feasible. Have him render the SD3 audio into the project and send it back. Then you can either just directly keep working from the sent back project....OR....use Logic's built in ability to transfer tracks between them to just transfer in his multichannel drum audio renders.

Thanks Popmann, that's a good idea.

And they say software simpler... Sorry..... Well.. sometimes it is, and sometimes it isn't. No problem if I just spend another $300 on SD 3 ;-) Hmmm.. maybe I'll see if the sounds I like in SD3 are available as a separate kit.
