Awesome! Thx. Great way to enjoy my coffee this morning.... I think they would have sounded killer on pretty much any mic.

I’ve recorded Jerry a lot of the years and had a session with Tommy for this shit kicking fiddle tune called Talk Fiddler with Michael Cleveland. He came it, said a couple quick hellos, sat down in front of his microphone and the band did their best to keep up! He has an amazing energy in his personality and performances.
Ear Trumpet microphones are incredibly popular in the bluegrass world as live microphones. They are pretty pre-eq’d to minimize feedback caused by stage monitors to use in the studio, but I think the clip on microphone they make for upright bass is my favorite.

Big fan of his. Would love to see him live sometime. Yeah I checked out the microphones a bit. Definitely EQed a lot. Cool looking though. I think I've seen one in action before somewhere in St Louis but can't really remember.

Acoustic guitar has got to be one of the least suitable "solo" playing instruments out of all of them. It's nice to hear people go for it though.
