A lot in the package for what you are paying. I can't seem to get on with Helix sounds. Its a real struggle for me to get the high end sound natural.
The product design is great though. It probably fits in my guitar case.

I finally got to hear the Helix in a live context a few days ago. My interest had been piqued by Don R's comments about it being used by Richie in BOC.
I must say, I was somewhat impressed - it still had a bit of that "Line 6 sound" that I don't like but much, much less than in their earlier products. They have definitely upped their game. Since I was not playing it myself I don't know how much the tone could be improved by careful programming but it's getting damn close. I did not have the chance to compare it to a real amp on the same stage, as the band only had one guitarist, but by itself it did quite well.

Always like Pete Thorn’s take on gear:

TBH I think Helix (native) out of the box doesn't sound great. It is mainly the IR section. I play worship through to metal and the HX stomp would be perfect to cover that ground live.
I've own/owned axe fx, kemper, bias, overloud, pods, NeuralDSP, but I'm struggling with helix native. Maybe my expectations are set too high after the Kemper and NeuralDSP......
Another issue playing live is how the guitars sit in the mix. This is something that is hard to get right especially in small venues with less than ideal setups.
Anyway I am actually rooting for HX Stomp (helix) because the form factor is really appealing.

One feature of the Helix that helps Richie get a great result is the IR capability. You can use your own or third party IR's to get a sound that's truly yours. Richie also uses IR's with a Variax to get a totally convincing acoustic guitar sound when BOC plays "The Vigil." The IR is a Taylor and it sounds as good as a piezo'd acoustic. Better actually.
